    Hi all,

Unfortunately, my dad can't attend Saturdays match due to a family wedding (The Plastic I hear you all say!!!!), and we were wondering if the ticket could be transferred to a child for that match only? Well I say child, it's around 13/14, but would they be able to get in on the season ticket?

I know this used to be possible, but wasn't sure where we stood with the new systems

Your help is much appreciated, and thanks in advance!!

The club rule is that tickets are NON TRANSFERABLE.

I say balls to the club just take the lad along make sure he goes in first before you and make sure he scans the ticket and that he pushes the gate fairly quickly as he's going through!

I have seen a few people get stuck and have to get the stewards over and a few of them would rather justify the steward title than use common sense...this could then cause a problem!

They've never abided to that! I've had mum go in on my dad's ticket before, as well as another kid go in on my dad's ticket - and this was when they checked tickets themselves

As long as you aren't as recognisable as, say, "Matthew Le Tissier" you'll be fine.

Sometimes the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov goes in with my ticket and I go in with hers and it seems to make no difference whatsover.

A child would be a cheaper option than adult so I can't see what the problem would be if she is going in on an adult ticket unless it is a concession and even then they could be the same price.

You could always be upfront and check with a steward although you run the risk of asking a jobsworth who will say tickets are non transferrable.

If you do then tell him it is club policy to encourage young people to come to games and that you demand his name and job title so that you can write to Mr Cortese and tell him that one of his stewards was failing to comply with club policy. Whatever you do make a big fuss and create a scene and try get others around you to back you up. He should back down then and help you through the turnstile. Remember never say no and always be as difficult as hell. Never make a jobsworth's job easy for that is exactly what they want.

If you are a little nervous about doing this then I'll ask the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov to support you. She'll put the fear of God into him. She frightens the living daylights out of me sometimes.

When you scan the ticket it triggers a light code which tells the steward what kind of ticket it is for, i.e. Adult, Concession, or Child, so it is difficult to pass a child through with an Adult ticket, and vice versa.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I've used my mum or dad's season ticket for years now, and never even heard a sniff from any of the stewards. Hope it all works out on and off the pitch saturday <ok>

For the Wigan game I had my brother's season ticket. I was a bit tentative with the scanner and it didn't let me through. I didn't fancy trying to persuade a steward that I was 11 years old so my brother bleeped his and we both squeezed through the turnstile at the same time. A girl selling those raffle tickets gave us a funny look but apart from that we got away with it. Wouldn't recommend it though if you have a larger waistline.

Anyway, I don't know what the official rule is but yes you should be fine. Unless your surname is Le Tissier.

As an adult ticket costs more than a child ticket, the club won't care in the slightest if a child uses an adult ticket. It is the other way round they'd have an issue with.

Thanks for the advice guys, as I say, I don't see the issue myself - it was unofficially allowed when the stewards checked it so, it's not like they can scan whose using the ticket? :p

I've been up to the Bolyn to see Wet Spam about 50 times on my mates non transferable season ticket (im not going to turn down a free football match, even if it is hoof ball, I end up spending a ton on booze and train, and the people I sit with know I'm a Saint and take the piss for 90 min), so I wouldn't worry about that rule if I was you.
