http://www.justgiving.com/Carl-Tucker On the 4th Feb 2012, a 6 man team from 58 Sqn RAF Regt, based at RAF Leuchars, are going to attempt the 'Thames Trot' 50 mile endurance race, organised by 'Go Beyond'. The Sqn have been on operations since April in Afghanistan, not due to return to the UK till November 2011. On return from the tour the lads will have around 12 weeks to get themselves ready for the challenge, most of their training getting done during there post Op leave, during Xmas and New Year. In order to keep with the military theme, the lads will be undertaking the challenge in military attire, wearing MTP, combat boots and carrying their patrol sacks. The time limit for the event is 12 hours, the lads are aiming to complete this in under 10 hours. In order to make this event more worthwhile they are raising money for injured comrades, with all proceeds going to Help 4 Heroes. Any sponsorship, no matter how small, will go along way, helping H4H continue there amazing work supporting the British Troops injured in combat all over the world. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you all soon
Lots of respect Blue, but why are you only asking for 200 quid, if i were you i would increase the target figure to a grand. If you leave it at 200 people will see you've reached your target and stop donating. Anyway the fact that you support Wycombe has'nt stopped me putting in my 20, good luck with the event, and keep safe.
Hi Rocky, Why not ask the club if you can do a blanket collection at the next home game, you only need 4 people to walk round the pitch holding up a blanket at half time for the crowd (?) to throw loose change in. We did it at ColU a few seasons ago and collected nearly 400 quid. Tell the club what it's all about and get them to broadcast it over the tannoy system. Good luck. PS. Our Golf society had a charity competition last Friday with the proceeds split between the youth and infant teams at Mazarron and the Aspadem school for disabled children in Mazarron, after expenses we raised over 2000€.
I've added my donation hope to see more of us donating soon and keeping this thread near the top of the threads or make it sticky
As you will see I have made this a sticky. I have also promoted it to Article and is now published on NewsNow.
Maybe Feb 2012 seems a long way off. A more concentrated effort nearer the time via local newspapers might do better and a few nice girls out and about in the town centres might do the trick.
Looks like you may need a few Essex girls to help you out Ron, might not be as nice as your lot but they know how to get money out of people!.
Right come on guys less than a month now untill this event so the big push to raise money has started now that christmas and new year is over!
Good luck with this I will be raising money for help for heros when I run the London marathon this year.
