Where is the best place for a visiting football supporter, such as myself, to be imbibing beverages of an alcoholic nature on the 6th of March? No offence, but I don't want to be mixing with your riff-raff. Any away-only pub recommendations you know of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Indeed Iqbal, there's a lovely spot called the "Wind your neck Inn" on the corner of "Zip it cave dweller" and "Fur Cue"
The Silver Cods a nice one for away fans near the ground, as are most the ones on Anlaby road. Make sure you wear your colours, they can be quite funny about letting you in, often mix up who's home and away fans. Enjoy the evening but not the game
And if you walk up to bar and say loudly 'I'm an East Yorkshire white', they'll give you a 10% discount.
How about the mudflats just off Paul you little wan£er. Have you given Warnock 'one off the wrist yet'?
Lucky my train will only be passing through Durham, Darlo and York, then. Thanks for the recommendations BTW guys. I'll make sure to visit as many of them as possible.
I suspect the train from York will be passing through Goole, but I was more meaning the incompetent police force will try shutting to away fans every licenced premises within 30 miles of the ground.
I get ya. Although the train will certainly not be passing through Goole. It goes Selby > Howden > Brough > Hull, with some lesser places along the way. Just a shame that it's on a bloody weeknight again. Not for me personally, but from the perspective of all the other Leeds fans who'll have to finish work at 17:00 and try get to the East as soon as they can.
Shows how much attention I pay to the stops on the way, I only make the journey for every weekend home game and didn't realise I only go through Goole on the Doncaster changes.
So annoying that you have to go through Donny to get back to civilization when it gets late. These bloody backwards remote outposts.
You're not going to get away with that with me, I travel to and from Scotland so there's only one backwards remote outpost on my journey and it's not at the southern end.
The whole of Scotland, but if I was being specific I'd say Glenrothes. You could shoot a film set in Eastern Europe in the 70s or 80s there without having to do any set dressing.
How about a nice cooling drop of Humber ebb tide water. Best quaffed after jumping off the Humber Bridge. But keep it a secret from Brownie.
