Leeds fan in peace (you won't hear that too often). Just wanted to discuss Beckford. I feel that he is yet to reclimatise to the Championship. Footballers have big ego's and Beckford is no different. Sometimes you have to dig deep and grind out a result. Nobody has a God given right to score goals at any level but because Beckford has been playing at a slightly higher level, and has stepped down, do you think that he is too expectant of goals without the hard graft. Anyway, you have sorted out your defense, and you're not leaking goals any more, wish we could say the same...
He looked off the pace today, against Brighton he looked sharp. His goals will come I think, it will just take him time to settle in.
Well now David Nugent is back and we can get Beckford and Nugent up top then the goals will start to flow The major problem was the defence and now that is sorted we should be fine
He looked a bit frustrated at times today. He even tried chasing back to get the ball, which I don't think is his game? I still think he will come good for us, as will the whole thing. In fact, maybe it has come good for us as dominated away at Cardiff and being disappointed with a point is different from how that fixture usually ends! We looked good when Johnson came on too, lets hope he can stay fit.
I like Beckford and he seems to fight for the cause. We really are starting to get our act together. May now swap Wellens/King for Danns tbh.
id leave wellens in the team. king could use a bit of a kick up the backside. think I would give danns a starting place very soon either for king or abe. As for the defence, its starting to look good. peltier should be a cert now and the boys in the middle are looking good.
The problem Beckford has had since joining us is lack of service. I don't think he's had a decent chance yet. He had a half chance when he took the ball down on his chest and then managed to get a shot away which showed the ability he has but he needs better service than we've provided so far. I am convinced he will be a very good player for us!!
