Much better in the 2nd quarter than the 1st but that's not saying much. Can now claim to have ended the half as the better side but need to find a way to deal with Shrewsbury's high press while stopping the supply from their wide players. Ref has been poor. Fossey should have been booked for a cynical trip when he'd lost the ball on the half way line. Failed to give a free kick in a dangerous position when Mayor was fouled and instead gave a very disadvantageous advantage play-on. Hasn't had a lot to do of importance but the 2 things there were he got wrong!
Shrewsbury keeper down injured. Unsure why, seemed to go down with play elsewhere. Hamstring or muscle? Sub coming on.
Hardie on for Telford. Typical hard working performance from Telford but you'd always stake a few quid on Hardie sticking one away.
Hardie puts Nouble through. He hits the target but the keeper saves. We need Nouble putting Hardie through....
Much better in the final hour of the match but couldn't find a second goal. First 30 minutes were worrying. Shrewsbury pressed high very effectively and we just couldn't play our game. Overall we just about deserved the 3 points but Lowe needs to find a way to combat that sort of opposition. I'm not convinced we starting the right midfield three. The central position is key to receiving the ball from the back three and moving it on safely and effectively. After looking good in pre season, McLeod isn't really shining. I remember Joe Edwards did pretty well there for a while last season, perhaps he deserves a chance. Or go for broke and give Adam Randall a chance. He's so cool on the ball i think he could work in those tight spaces.
Not much else to say that you haven't already notdistant. I thought the Ref was a trifle lenient today. The one card he showed to Canavan was for an absolutely nothing challenge which normally would hardly merit a free kick. Yet he allowed a number of fouls to go by having blown up and not even spoken to the player let alone look like producing a card. I think there should have been at worst a couple of bookings for the opposition. Not the greatest performance by Argyle although I do agree we finished the stronger. Their keeper played very well and the sub did pretty well when he came on. Far too many given away balls in the top part of our half when everyone was going forward. A few culpable candidates doing that and they need to learn to pass it to a green shirt and not get caught with it doing nothing. Overall never looked like losing but perhaps didn't look that close to winning either.
Observers at yesterdays match thought that Will Aimson was possibly the player with Covid symptoms....not even on the bench...and no talk of him being injured. The none playing staff member with Covid symptoms....could have been Rhys Wilmot....there was comments that he didn't seem to be at the game. Maybe in the fullness of time we will get told....I don't see the benefit of keeping it secret will bring.
Only saw highlights of the game so cannot really comment other than to say a point away is to be respected. Best of luck for the rest of the season and let's hope we can all get to see live football sooner rather than later.
I think it's to respect the privacy of the individuals concerned. We don't have a right to know about their medical conditions and if it was made public, there's a risk of online abuse or even real life discrimination.
I understand what your saying and your trying to protect a few known people like at Argyle....but that doesn't work too well with a worldwide pandemic....where you need to know who is infected and who need protection from infection.....it doesn't only select those that want to continue partying after the pubs have closed flaunting the rules that are there for the majority to be protected.
