Hello lads - a friendly Shrew here. See you have had a decent start to the season unlike us. We have been beset by bad injuries (losing one player after just six seconds last game) and howlers from two inexperienced goalkeepers. See you have been bitten by the virus but hope the game goes ahead. I was one of the 'lucky' 1000 who attended the pilot on Saturday and it was a rather surreal socially-distanced experience though no doubt I would have enjoyed it more if we had turned our 70% possession into more goals. Yours is one of the few stadiums in the league I have not had the pleasure of visiting yet but maybe next year. Best of luck for the season (though I cannot see this season being completed in the current climate) and lets all stay safe and well and live to fight another day.

Welcome. We're all missing live football, God knows how many clubs will still be here when we do get back.
We're lucky in having possibly the best owner in English football. He's put millions into putting the club back on its feet after nearly going out of business 12 (?) years ago. We have a very popular manager, exciting players, a refurbished main grandstand and now the gates have been locked. Even he doesn't have bottomless pockets.
Our defensive strategy is to concentrate on attacking so we could beat you 6 - 0 or it could be a 4-4 draw like last week or you could nick it by the odd goal if you catch us on the break. It's unlikely to be dull though rest assured.

Hello friendly Shrew.....well I hope your season picks-up AFTER Saturdays match.....I haven't been any nearer than twenty odd miles from Shrewsbury since 1960 when i did my square bashing at RAF Bridgnorth during my national service years.
I see your record at Home Park isn't too good.....so my mentioning it will probably put the mockers on Argyle chances now......when you get the chance Plymouth is a good place to make a weekend of it to see the Shrews play in the future.

I've changed the title of the thread to the Match day title as it seemed appropriate to start it with a Shrewsbury post for a change. We have exchanged posts a few times in the past and I'm pleased to see you have green in your user name as well.
This season we could be anything from high flyers to a big disappointment shipping goals for fun. We actually could and should have won the last one believe it or not even though it was 4 - 4 in the end. You played Portsmouthnil last game but you could score against us as we sometimes let a few slip in. As said above we do at least play a bit of exciting football these days and it is definitely centred on the attacking side of the game. It is such a refreshing change from the dour Derik Adams brand previously. We also do have a very sensible owner who has backed the club with his own money and not in a foolish way. I think we will be ok throughout this period but there are likely to be a few at least that aren't. I think some sets of supporters are going to wish their owners hadn't been so gung-ho in the past running up the debts.
Anyway, we are bound to win this one so that's enough of the match talk.......................(he says with hope)

Nice to be in touch again Greeny. Our past record at your ground certainly does not inspire confidence but we live in hope. We look really inexperienced this year with some young lads on loan and have switched to four at the back in an attempt to score more goals. At least our best defender Pierre should be back after suspension and probably our captain Norburn as well after personal tragedy. Our main threat upfront is Whalley who despite being well into his thirties looks our fittest player. See you lot are scoring goals for fun so I cannot see us getting a nil-nil like we did against Portsmouth.
Don't despair we have let a few in as well. Teams always have a chance against us due mainly to the way the Manager insists on playing. He is the gung-ho type but have to say it's much better to watch if and when we are allowed to. Believe he was once one of your players.
Lowe was very under-rated when he was with us but we had a poor team then and even dropped out of the league for one season. He had to go elsewhere to develop and finally really found his goal scoring boots relatively late in his playing career. On another front we have signed Leon Clarke today but I doubt if he will be involved tomorrow.
Looks like it's Aimson who was Orientated. Back 3 is Wootton, Canavan and Watts.

0-1 deflected shot after Shrewsbury free kick was half cleared. Can't say they haven't deserved it.
Cooper tries to chip yhe keeper with a 40 yard free kick and then Dom Telford engineers a decent chance. Argyle then have 2 shots saved in 2 seconds. Better but still struggling to keep and move the ball.
