Don't doubt his attitude and committment, but just how effective is he?

Ploughing a lone furrow up front is a specialist art. Should Malky's system change to suit him, or does Malky need a different player to suit his system?

I don't think we got another player who can play a lone striker role! Personally I think the system isn't suiting the players we got!

He's a good player to have to win flick ons but we need a striker to work off that, Mason or Velikonja

He's a good player - but not suited to being up front on his own (even when he was ten years younger). Wrong system, simples.

Helg cannot be effective playing on his own up front. We can all see that. So any good manager should be able to use the players at his disposal in the most effective way. Why does he persist with playing one striker? When we played Wolves in a 4-4-2 formation the team played as a unit and probably pulled off the best performance I've seen for years. So what does the manager do? Revert to 1 upfront with a player who gives his all but in a formation that doesn't suit.

My conclusion is that it's not Helgs inadequacies it's the manager's inability to play him in the most effective way.

I think a few of us are falling out of love with Malky's approach to 'winning' games.

We have had a decent start to the season, but as i have quite openly said recently, some of MM tictacs leave me bemused, our best players arent being utilised to suit thier strengths and this insistence on playing differently away from home, i cant see how this will get us promoted. Listening to the commentary on the Palace game, in the second half we just couldnt keep the ball let alone get it into dangerous areas. If we can see this surely he can. I am looking forward to the Blackpool game which will be an acid test of the highest order, and will be interesting to see what Cardiff City turns up, if its 4 5 1 then i fear Blackpool will beat us quite easily. Helguson ploughing a lone furrow isnt the answer in my book.

With HH up front a 4411 may suit. Play Eti or Mason just off, asking them to drop back when wout of posession. Second thoughts, Mason is probably best suited.

I think we should play 4-4-1-1 but mutch needs to stay in the middle in front of our defence. I lost count of the amount of times we were caught on the break because there was nobody in the middle. We've gone from playing everything down the middle to everything out wide. I would like to see a bit of variety.
