HELGUSON: WE MUST START BETTER Posted on: Wed 30 Nov 2011 Heidar Helguson has revealed discussions have taken place within the QPR dressing room regarding Norwich City's 73rd minute winner at Carrow Road last weekend. After conceding an early Russell Martin goal, Rangers got themselves back into the game through Luke Young, but left East Anglia pointless when Grant Holt got on the end of Wes Hoolahan's centre. Helguson admitted it was a disappointing team goal to concede, but added: "All goals are really. "We have had discussions about it and we need to make sure that we don't let teams score against us like that again. "We had the chances to clear the ball earlier but we didn't, but we also had opportunities to equalise after that." Rangers found themselves trailing after just 14 minutes, having gone a goal behind in the eighth minute against Stoke the previous weekend. While the R's were able to turn their deficit around and claim all three points at the Brittania Stadium, they couldn't repeat that feat against Paul Lambert's men, and Helguson told www.qpr.co.uk this morning: "It seemed in both games that it was only after we went a goal down that we started to play. "I don't know why that is, but sometimes it can happen like that. We have to address it and make sure it doesn't happen too often." Despite the poor start against our fellow Premier League new-boys, it was the visitors who looked the more likely to go on and win the game after drawing level with Young's second goal in as many matches. "I thought in the latter stages of the first half and in the second half we were much the better team," Helguson added. "Once we equalised I thought we had them on the ropes but we conceded again and just couldn't peg them back. "After we scored, I thought if anyone was going to win the game it would be us. "But we have not really come out of the blocks quickly enough in the last couple of matches and that is something we need to look at." On Saturday, Neil Warnock's men are back at Loftus Road for the first time in a month after two away fixtures and an international break. Helguson believes the R's need to make home advantage count against West Bromwich Albion. "This is going to be another very tough match," he acknowledged, "but we need to get something out of this game because our next two matches against Liverpool and Man United are going to be really hard, but there are still plenty of games to come." iReader
HH failed to score at Carrow Road of course ending a really impressive run. Will his name still be first on the team sheet with DJ on the come back trail I wonder? Personally I really hope so as he offers a completely different dimension to our game with his excellent hold up play. Come on Neil: as an early Christmas present to people like me just for once try starting 4-4-2 with HH and Bothroyd up top.
Sorry aaagh but he doesn't score in 1 away game and all of a sudden you're worried that he'll be dropped for Campbell when he comes back.
Warnock will give HH a run regardless of whether he scores, his all-round play is an important factor...
