Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) v Leeds United 12th November 2022 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium please log in to view this image With an early morning set off I woke up to the news my brother had been taken to hospital. I was already an emotional wreck as a memory of my mum popped up last night which set me off well and truly and now, we had another kick in the teeth for my family. We stopped at Muswell Hill on the way down and arrived in good time at the ground with privileged parking today next to the entrance. It was very easy to get into the stand although I did set off the security alarms as I went through the detectors. It was good to see common sense prevail here as they checked bags and let you take them into the ground, not like at Liverpool which was a complete contrast where I wasn’t even allowed to take my medication in with me. Just before kick-off I was feeling very faint and felt ready to collapse so it’s a good job we had plenty of action on the pitch to take my mind off things in the background. Team: Meslier, Cooper, Koch, Aaronson, Struijk, Summerville, Adams, Roca, Rodrigo, Gnonto and Kristensen. Subs: Greenwood for Gnonto (45), Ayling for Roca (79), Joseph for Kristensen (89), Gelhardt for Rodrigo (89). Subs not used: Robles, Llorente, Firpo, Perkins, Gyabi. Leeds lost the game 4-3 after taking the lead three times. Summerville (10) and Rodrigo with a brace (43 and 76) were the Leeds scorers. Attendance: TBC with 3,038 Leeds fans. Referee: Michael Salisbury. Booked: Roca, Adams. Sent off: Adams.T he game kicked off at a blistering pace with plenty of end to end attacking. Within 10 minutes Leeds took the lead with a Summerville goal after good work from Gnonto and Aaronson. Spurs had a chance to equalise, but their player blasted the ball over the top of the goal from a good position. Summerville got into a good position with another chance at the far end of the ground which was saved by the keeper. Sadly, once again we couldn’t keep a lead although in reality this should have been disallowed for a push on Meslier by two Spurs players when he punched a corner clear, which sent him into the back of the net. Although the referee listened to “advice” through his earpiece, the goal stood. Just before the break following a Leeds corner, Cooper kept the ball in then Kristensen headed the ball on for Rodrigo to score our second to take us into the break leading 2-1. As someone said, could we call it a day now and keep the win? Another comment was that we still had goals to concede in our defence which we both agreed on, so I said we just needed to score more than Spurs. Gnonto had gone down a few times in the first half and was replaced at the start of the second half by Greenwood. It was Spurs who equalised after five minutes of the restart despite Meslier and Kristensen combining to keep the ball out. A Leeds free kick went over the bar from Greenwood before Leeds won the ball back from Spurs. Roca’s pass to Rodrigo saw him get his second goal of the game for Leeds to take the lead for the third time on the day. There were still 11 minutes of the game left when Ayling replaced Roca which took away our strength in midfield as Spurs attacked down the right-hand side and got the luck with a deflected goal to equalise once more. That gave them the impetus and two minutes later took the lead for the first time on the day as they scored a fourth goal. Adams was then sent off for a second bookable offence although I didn’t think it was that bad a challenge and need to see a replay. There was no way back for Leeds sadly once they got their noses in front especially with us reduced to 10 men. It was a disappointing end to the game after it promised so much. I would have taken a draw today, but we came away with nothing as we cannot see a game out once we’ve taken the lead. With the World Cup now going to take place in Qatar, that’s it for the league until 28th December although we now have a home friendly against Real Sociedad on 16th December. Just before Christmas it’s an additional expense I could have done without to be honest. With the news my brother has had a heart attack and is being kept in for tests and treatments, to say we’ve had a stressful year as a family is an understatement. With our relatives in Ukraine and him driving to Budapest to pick them up to my mum’s recent death we’ve had more than our fair share of troubles and I really wish we could get a break. We will be joining my mum and dad’s ashes together and planting a tree in their memory tomorrow so that will be another emotional time. I’ve a hip operation to look forward to in the near future too so maybe it’s a good job we now have a break from football even though it keeps me going. I hope your brother's OK and your hip gets sorted. I bet you can't wait for this year to end, roll on 2023 hey?
Best wishes for today Heidi as you join their ashes together and fingers crossed you have a better 2023 Loving the photos
You've really been through it this year. Best wishes for your brother. You must look after yourself too
We said that at the end of 2019 and it’s been one thing after the other for my family since then. Fingers crossed this time our luck will change.

I've been to the spuds stadium for the rugby league challenge Cup final Heidi and it's easier to get into the country on the south coast, if they had the people who work there on the south coast we would not be getting invaded that's for sure
Best wishes to you and your family Heidi. Not sure watching Leeds is going to relieve the stress anytime soon.
Sorry to hear about your brother & all the woes you've endured this year, Heidi, hope things improve for you & your family. Not been a good year in the '64 household too, but that's another story. Great photos as ever, thank you.
Sorry you're still getting pummelled, Heidi. It's got to end soon. And it will. Keep positive! Btw, what set off the security alarms. It's not all those body piercings you've got, is it? Too soon?
Thanks for your comments everyone, they are greatly appreciated. My brother came home yesterday with three stents in one artery that had collapsed so fingers crossed things will go okay. Someone posted on his timeline that they had the same but their heart crushed the stents and had to have three bypasses and is now in heart failure. I just thought no... we've been through enough!! We thought his Ukrainian mum in law was having one too but luckily that turned out not to be but my brother was in a Leicester hospital and she was taken to Kettering as all the Leicester ones were full. Thank goodness we didn't have them both in at the same time. We planted a tree for my mum and dad along with their ashes combined so they have got their final resting place not far from where they both met and where they lived all their lives since coming to this country. It would be nice to have some luck for a change whatever that is. I suppose it's just like Leeds United!
Lol it was either my phone of Iwatch. Well they were happy with that explanation as all was fine without them.
