Thank you to everyone for your kind words, thoughts, hugs and generally just being there for my family and I since my mum’s death. We had a very tearful day yesterday giving her the send off she deserved which impacted on my emotional well-being today when I felt like the stuffing had been knocked out of me. It took a while to get myself up and ready to go to the game, but I knew once I started meeting and talking to other fans, I would be okay. That said, after the final whistle today with another defeat, it didn’t take long for that feeling to return.

Team: Meslier, Cooper, Struijk, Koch, Ayling, Greenwood, Aaronson, Roca, Rodrigo, Harrison and Sinisterra.

Subs: Bamford for Rodrigo (64), Summerville for Sinisterra (64), Klich for Greenwood (76), Gelhardt for Struijk (85).

Subs not used: Robles, Gyabi, Kristensen, Llorente, Firpo.

Leeds lost the game 3-2 with Rodrigo (20) and Summerville (90+1) scoring.

Attendance: 36,447, approximately 1,566 Fulham fans.

    Referee: Anthony Taylor.

    Booked: Cooper.

On my way into the Kop someone said what did I think of the team? I said I hadn’t seen it so wasn’t surprised to see the changes after our defeat and poor performance at Leicester on Thursday. I said the only response the team could do after that was thrash Fulham, but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen that happen.

Leeds started the game very well with plenty of attacking football and the crowd getting behind them. Fulham’s first real attempt at our goal saw our hearts in our mouths as their player to the left of the goal was in acres of space. We had to thank Roca for stopping the ball on the line and Koch then clearing the ball altogether for us to breathe a sigh of relief for keeping it out. Leeds took the lead not long afterwards when Aaronson passed to the ball to Harrison on the right who saw his shot deflected into the air. Rodrigo got on the end of it to put the ball into the net giving us a welcome lead. Having just seen my photos from this, it looks like Rodrigo reacted badly to something said from the crowd. The one thing we were all in agreement around me was we needed to keep that lead and not concede as we had done so many times before recently. Sadly, once again, we couldn’t even keep the lead for 10 minutes. I do think that an incident in the Cheese Wedge lower where everyone started shouting for medics to come had an impact. The game stopped but then restarted very quickly and there was some agitation in the crowd regarding this. Apparently, a young girl was carried out having fainted, but came back into the stand after half time.

Before we knew it, Fulham had equalised from a corner that was headed into the net. Leeds just seemed to go to pieces as Fulham attacked us with a vengeance. From us attacking the South Stand, one of their players got behind everyone of our players near the halfway line and ran at Meslier. Meslier was brilliant and stood his ground and was able to stop him from scoring. That was a let off for us as boos started ringing around Elland Road and it got to the stage that I couldn’t wait for the half time whistle to blow in the end.

The second half once again saw us start off well with Rodrigo’s shot saved by the keeper, before Aaronson and then Ayling came close. Ayling then was back in defence with a vital block. Bamford came close to scoring but the keeper cleared the ball, before a poor clearance by Leeds saw the ball crossed back into the area for Fulham to score again from a header. I was expecting to see lots of Leeds fans leaving the game with 15 minutes left but it wasn’t until Fulham got a third with approximately five minutes left that our fans left the stands in droves. With boos, chants of what the f**k is going on for the second game in a row as well as sack the board things were turning toxic in the stands. Gelhardt passed to Summerville who pulled one back in injury time, but it was too little too late and made the score look more respectable, when in reality we had made Fulham look a lot better than we should have done.

I know everyone is calling for Marsch’s head but personally, I can’t see the board sacking him for some reason. I know many fans are starting to question how much influence the 49ers now have in running the club so who knows? To be honest, I am concerned how bad our fitness levels have gone this season as well as our coaching and tactics not working. We’ve a big game at Anfield next Saturday but one thing is for sure, us fans will have a good day out regardless of how relevant the football or lack of it will be. See you there, LUFC, Marching on Together!

Sorry we didn’t get to bump into you Heidi 52 of our lot were over. Shambles of a game, tactics, defending, everything about it. A sad looking shadow of the club two years ago. Genuinely feels like nobody knows what they’re aT from the board to the players. We still had a cracking weekend

We are back to the lack of football getting in the way of a good day out. We are back at pre Bielsa levels and sadly all I can see at the moment is us in a downward spiral with no way of getting out of it. I am hoping for a miracle win at Anfield on Saturday to give me some hope and prove me wrong!
