After my hip operation on Tuesday, my incentive was the determination to make it to the game at Everton today although not in my usual seat, but in a disability scooter. I’m pleased to say I made it despite the defeat there and a big thank you to Steven for the lift there and back. Thank you to everyone for your support before and after my operation which is greatly appreciated as always. The pain after my operation was like the chronic pain I’d been suffering but more intense as well as muscular. I’ve religiously done the exercises which have had an immediate impact on my mobility. Just got to keep an eye on the dehydration and sickness I suffered for two days after the operation. We parked just under a kilometre away from the ground but one thing I will say, the paths around Liverpool are terrible. They were uneven, full of dog poo and not good with the slopes up and down on to the paths. As we got to the ground, we went into the Everton fan zone before waiting outside the away entrance. My daughter and I were in the corner wheelchair bay behind the corner flag and had a good position to view the pitch. Certainly, a better view than upstairs in the stand as we were last year. The support we had in the ground was very good from Everton which was nice to see. Thoughts with squirrel’s family and friends today as the little one made a last trip to a football game.

Team: Meslier, Ayling, Wöber, Firpo, Adams, McKennie, Bamford, Harrison, Summerville, Gnonto, Koch.

Subs: Kristensen for Wöber (45), Aaronson for Summerville (61), Rutter for McKennie (78), Greenwood for Harrison (85).

Subs not used: Robles, Cooper, Gyabi, Joseph, Monteiro.

    Leeds lost the game 1-0.

    Attendance: 39, 232, 2,803 Leeds fans.

    Referee: Andrew Madley.

    Booked: Adams, McKennie, Gnonto.

It is definitely a different game at pitch level rather than further up the terraces that’s for sure. There was plenty of fight in the team at the start as there was plenty of end to end action without either side having too many chances. Everton nearly took the lead but with Wöber and then McKennie defending on the goal line, we were able to clear the ball and then had Meslier to thank for a great save to keep the score level as it neared half time. As Leeds won a free kick when Adams was fouled, his reacted by kicking out and then both teams players dived in, some to cause trouble and others to try and break things up. Now I’ve no problem seeing some spirit from our side, but I feel Adams was very lucky not to have got himself sent off by retaliating at that point. Thankfully due to there being so many players involved it was Adams and McKennie who took the Leeds bookings as Everton took two also. As the whistle blew, I was already heading under the stand using my sticks.

I was sad to see that Wöber hadn’t come out at the start of the second half assuming he was injured. That wasn’t a good sign as he had stabilised the back four in my opinion, and we needed him as that steadying influence. Meslier made a good save but then was beaten not long after when a cross from the right-hand side went straight into the net with him way out of his goal. That was it, we were on the back foot from thereon. Just before their goal we had a chance to calm things down when Meslier got the ball but instead of holding on to it, we kicked in straight back out only for Everton to win it back to attack us again. We did try to get back into the game but sadly weren’t good enough and ended up losing the game by that single goal.

As we are now in the bottom three, that dreaded relegation battle I was hoping to avoid, is definitely real. As things started to turn in the ground with boos, sack the board and Orta out, unless we come out of the starting blocks against Southampton next week, it’s not going to be pretty on or off the terraces. I’ve no doubt fans will get behind the team as they always do, but it will only take a goal against us for things to go downhill. Sadly, I can have all the passion in the world about supporting my team, but I cannot magic those desperately needed points out of nowhere. See you next week, LUFC – Marching on Together!

Heidi I'm interested in your opinion on something and that's to do with the chants of 'Orta out ' and 'sack the board '.

My own view is that the board, our owners and Victor Orta are for better or worse part of us. They all want us to win as much as any fan and so when we turn against them it just seems wrong in my opinion.

Of course the frustrations of our fanbase are understandable, as is the desire to lash out and blame someone, but if we're not all in this together then what chance do we have of being strong and fighting against relegation ?

No doubt you've seen it all Heidi, including the car park demonstations against Leslie Silver back in the 80's, so I'd be very interested in your take on things.

(Incidentally for those that don't know, or remember, Leslie Silver was still Chairman of Leeds United when we won the title in 1992 and was considered the driving force behind our fantastic period of success under manager Howard Wilkinson).

We are not on the same page anymore, it is back to them and us. The split ownership has been a disaster and what ever trust there was has now gone sadly. We were building something great that they were responsible for throwing away for what? Things are so toxic now I don’t think it will recover if I’m honest as things have gone so badly wrong.

Thanks Heidi, your thoughts and comments are much appreciated as always.

You're also 100% correct as well so maybe I'll have to rethink my original thoughts.

Glad the operation went well. The lads have forgotten how to win. We need a miracle now.

Thanks. People will always have different opinions which is fine but I do talk to a lot of people. What you are talking about we had under Bielsa which is what we were building and it was great to see. What has happened since then is sacrilege as they’ve thrown it all away to be back to square one. They won’t be forgiven for that.

I’ve made my feelings known on the board for ages. Nothing more to add. You’ve put it better than I could. Delighted you made it to the game Heidi, never doubted you would. Terribly pity the players don’t show the same commitment to the club as the stalwart fans, especially the away ones.

Maybe if we sponsor the players and get them all mobility scooters they might play better.
