Have you noticed when Gayle does score he always has a shifty look over his shoulder and speeds up.... I always wondered why but I think I know now!
I'd be interested to know who is making the decision for him to go so deep for the ball and to link play. If its Rafa then fair enough but I think its wrong. If its Mitro then the coaching staff need to help understand why he needs to stop this. He is arriving too late on the scene. He is not blessed with great pace so he can't really make up that sort of ground. I think if we get more pace around him, better players around him, he will be less inclined to get so deep. He should be watching Costa. A guy who is not lightning quick, but has learnt how to ensure he is in the box at the right time.
