http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/stay...tory-18777918-detail/story.html#axzz2RBWLx9O3 Reading this, Sounds as if we offer him the right contract he will stay here. I really hope we see him between the sticks in league 1. Been a great goalkeeper and if it hadn't been for a terrible defence we would of seen a better goalkeeper for it. In league 1 we will want to win/come straight back up, If we keep key players it will be made easier to gain promotion, Heaton is one of those key players. So hopefully Saturday the EE will respond to this and give him some recognition and persuade him a little more to sign. please log in to view this image
Hear hear Shiny. Our goal difference would have been even worse without TH in goal and he is a really key player for us in L1 should he decide to stay.
That be one el of a feat....... Considering he's at least a Championship goalie if not better and playing behind a weak defense exposes you to an on slaught and the amount of saves he's made this season is evidence of what an achievement it would be to keep him on board...........he's made a few kicking clangers as well but they just make me laugh mind because of how good he really is....... I always hear Heaton voicing from the technical area what he sees and what he wants from his teammates, and leaders are what we need if we're ever to bounce back up to where we belong...... Big up Bungle......
You get an instinct if a player likes the club more than just money, this guy has that effect on me, he put's himself about without regard, cracking goalkeeper and what a stroke of good fortune if he decides to stay... Sign up and stay with us mate, we've not had a folk hero since Basso, you're wanted here...
I get that feeling to wiz, Sadly I feel baldock doesn't/wont want to be here in league 1. Davies I think will. As for heaton, He should be the first one we get to renew.
He's been great for us, and his attitude hasn't dropped even with the disgraces he's had to stand behind when playing for us. However, I think he also needs to realise that if he leaves his best chance for first-team football is, again, League 1. He should stick with us because he knows the team, the fans like him, and because we're his best shot at getting back up.
He is one of the only ones I would keep from teh current first team. I guess for him yes he could earn more by joining another champion team but he wont be guarenteed first team football and he will have to move his family somewhere else as I dont know where he is living now but Cardiff to Bristol isnt the longest of trips so think he would give up some income for his family. The one club I could see him going to if they made an offer would be someone like Birmingham who with selling Butland will need a new keeper and he did pull off some good saves against them recently. again its a not not a million miles away from us.
He's alright, nothing special.. if we keep him i wouldn't mind too much and if we sell i wouldn't cry about it.. Great shot stopper but crosses in the box he's dodgy, he never makes obvious mistakes but small minor ones, take a look at the birmingham goal.. more or less down the middle and heaten was no where near it.. he's made minor errors like that all season
I agree totally Lan. Does not move his feet quickly enough before starting his dive to be any good in the Premier and IMO an average Championship keeper.
Heaten-Maloney-cunningham-Elliott-Stead-Adomah-Davies. The rest let them go. Personally think Elliott will be the only survivor that will be here from the top list.
The Birmingham goal was just terrible all over. Heaton should of saved it but should never of had to save it.
