why when every thing seem to be going so well has it stop. i just dont see how these two selfish pricks can not see that they have pushed out the two things that were holding this club together. one season in charge Bhatia had manage to fix all the **** ups that they had made. then they do this. i think this is as bad as going down again. i really dont know what to say. the end of this season was bad enough but this really is some thing else. Briatore you will rot in hell for this.
Please read these fine words: We understand the QPR heritage and our role as fans, owners and custodians of the Club. We believe in being courageous in the development of the Club and in taking managed risks. At the same time we remain committed to developing the long-term sustainability of the Club through maintaining a business that pays its own way. Who said them? That's right, Flavio Briatore.
Somehow it just shows how cheap words can be! The price rise rumours have been persisting for weeks and sure enough its happened, but you have to question the thoughts of some supporters ...... "buy this player, buy that player" ........ "spend big on this that and the other". This has been going on for the last couple of years and it has resulted in losses of £35m over that period. Someone has to pay for this profligacy and its the supporters and I'm not sure why people think the board (Paladini, Briatore, Ecclestone and the Indians) would pay for this themselves. Genuine "football people" ie Benefactors are very few and far between - Dave Whelan at Wigan is one and Jack Walker at Blackburn was another. At Watford we had Elton John, who put in £4m (incl £2m on a grandstand) into the club between 1977 and 1990. Elton John and Jack Walker are now long forgotten. A Benefactor is defined as a person who GIVES money (expecting nothing in return) - the people in the QPR boardroom lend and underwrite debt, expecting money back. The difference is huge, the Bernie Ecclestone's of this world want plenty back for their part in QPR, and I'm afraid it is the supporters who have to pay up. We could debate the "value" of QPR all day long, but to say the club has a value of £100m is pushing it. And there you have it, QPR have a load of debt which is currently underwritten by the board members but their spats and falling outs aren't going to do anyone any good. The only continuity the club has is amongst its genuine supporters - not the "Johnny come lately's".
There is one thing we can all draw hope from. This is QPR, it will all be different this time next week.
