I know statistics can be used to prove anything but I was looking for some stats on WhoScored.com and not one of our first team squad has heading credited as a strength - many have it listed as a weakness.
Given how often we lose the midfield when aerial battles are lost or headed balls go straight to opponents, especially in the second half of games, and how we are reverting to panic defence at set pieces (more so when there are fairly tall opponents, i.e. those of similar height to many of our team) I am wondering if it's time to sign a player or two who is able to win aerial challenges!

I think are midfield is pretty tall tbh with Ki, Gylfi, Jonjo and Cork compared to the midfields of Joe, Leon, Routs and Dyer.

Fernandez, Bartley and Amat have also added height at the back too along with Fabianskis aerial ability.

Does it matter we have not got a bunch of headers playing for us? Points so far 46 and more to come.

I see Ki winning challenges. I see Williams winning headers too. Ditto Fernandez. But I just don't think we're that kind of team. Bony had a history of scoring with his head - then he joined us. <laugh>

Gomis has taken over from Bony in the defensive role ,he more often than not wins the ball into the box which then eaves Routledge or a anon up top to distract their defenders .
