Sadly just passed away. Life of Brian, probably one of the funniest films ever.

I can't ever remember the bloke saying or doing anything to annoy me ...

... yet he made me laugh and I genuinely admired his sense of decency.

It's a heartfelt RIP from me.

One of the very few very well known people I have ever met.
I was working in london, circa 1978/79 and he came into the place I was working at (London Building Centre ).
He was ever so polite and no airs or Graces etc ( none of the ' do you know who I am BS that pervades society ).
Another one bites the dust sadly

Probably not known to many but he was highly regarded in academia for his study and knowledge of medieval history.
By all accounts he could have lived a very very comfortable life just sticking to academic pursuits.
Thankfully for us all he chose to branch out and share his talents with us.

R.I.P. You will be sadly missed but long remembered by those of us who appreciate comedy genius.

Certainly a more credible historian than the widely accepted face of popular history, Tony Robinson.

Jones was a proper, bona fide historian. Robinson is just a presenter. And quite arrogant.
