Just got the paper and read it quickly so have not had time to digest yet but they say no core players will be sold. The offered to fund a Premier League striker for one year but Nick and Adam turned this down. Still trying to run the business on good financial footing. Sacked Adam cos they wanted more direct involvement with managing the team.

My impression is that they are well meaning but clueless, they believe they can do the job themselves cutting out costly people like Adam. I doubt that the the funds available are as simple as they try to make out. I would still trust Nick and Adam's judgement over theirs. Season passes are going up.
I think Nick will be fuming this morning as they have basically tried to stitch him up and he can' say anything.

Sorry just brief but have to get to work though I would love to stay on here and debate this all day.

reading your snippets from the HDM , it looks more like the Allams are / were prepared to put the hand in the pocket to fund a promotion push in JAN ,

I did say at the time Barmbys close involvement in the dressing room as a player was impacting on his transfer decisions - in that he wanted to show confidence in them .
Cant say its a bad trait , but it could have cost him his job

Can you explain how we are going to get a manager that does not have any downsides? - If one exists, I doubt he would want to come to Hull City.

If you want experience, then we aren't going to get somebody in high demand - and do you really want somebody easy going under the Allams?

Regarding AP-You don't just sack someone without notice or compensation as a 'cost cutting' exercise. That part I think is bollocks.

Just read the paper. A few snippets...

    No Comments on Barmby

Barmby and Pearson was offered the money to buy Billy Sharp in Jan but they thought he would upset the dressing room.

A.Allem offered to fund a Premier league loan striker for 4/5 months to the sum of £40-£50K per week. (On the basis we was in 5th position and it made finical sense to but extra money in to push for promotion)

Why would they invest £50 million then watch the team slide down the leagues? No key players will be sold and they have rejected a few bids already. They wouldn't state who but did state the press have been 'fairly accurate'.

Season pass renewals haven't gone out because they wanted to make the fans aware of the situation before renewing passes. They didn't believe it was fair to have fans buying new passes when they didn't know the full situation.

Passes will go up by 10-15%. They was the 5th lowest in the championship last year.

They still want a top 6 finish as a minimum next year and fully expect to achieve it.

Wage bill last year was £17million. One of the highest in the championship.

Will fund player purchases but they have to offer value for money and be sensible.

If they wanted the KC for development purposes they would have spent their £50million buying property.

Pearson was in charge of deals been negotiating and contracts. They will now take charge of this area.

Sure someone will post the full interview...

I think it shows what type of people they are when they come out saying all this b*llocks about making funds to sign players in January when neither Nick or Adam are able to respond to their story. This is nothing but a PR stunt from the Allams trying to cover the quite frankly awful way they have handled this whole affair.

Fine if they want to sack Nick/Adam, but show some guts and no it for real footballing reasons (not that I personally think they would be warranted) rather than suspend them for comments made to the media and then refuse to discuss the situation, do they think we are stupid?

And as for wanting a more direct contact with the management team, are they having a laugh? They are clueless about football so what the hell are they going to bring to the table.

Well, being pragmatic and not seeing everything through a red mist, I am actually hopeful things could turn out ok.

Adam, hard to deny what he's done for us, however, if he was on contractor rates, and employed on that basis, I understand why they've let him go. Thats the downside to being in that type of position and not a permy, but its set against being paid way over the odds for your work. Yes he's a hero to most of us, but, that doesn't mean the club, or the Allams, owe him anything. He's a business man as well, so he should realise this.

Sir Nick. Yes a legend. Yes he's "One of our own". But honestly, if he wasn't who is is, 90% of the fans woulda been calling for his head 3 or 4 games before the end of the season. I think he could be a good manager in the future, but its too soon for him. We need a Mick McCarthy, not a Nick.

I'm still amazed at the people slating the Allams for lying and being devious. They put 51 million quid into the club. You didn't. They did. Yes they might have handled this badly, but honestly, if some of you looked in the mirror, can you honestly say you're not reacting badly too? They didnt give us the 51m as a way to make a quick buck, they didn't do it to buy us as a plaything, they're as much Hull as anyone on here, they don't plan to run the club into the ground, they want us to be a success, so seriously, stop with the ****ing whining about that. No Allams = No Hull City. If you cant get your head round that fact, I pity you.

I forgot to add, I think we could end up with an experienced manager, a MUCH better financial footing for the club, which will serve us better in the long term, and providing we keep the ones we got and get the players we need, could easily end up top 3 next season.

Dare to dream people, dare to dream.

^^^^This, why can't people put emotion to one side, these people are amongst the richest people in the country, however they did it they've moved the liability of a £50M debt that would, without doubt, have seen our club go out of existence! FACT.

They have openly shared their vision for the club which I genuinely believe. They are very shrewd business people, supported by the fact that their personal wealth grew by £131M last year alone. You do not achieve such results by accepting ordinary performance from the people who work for you, they will be paying top money for the managers who work for them, why should they accept anything other than extraordinary performance.

Let's just keep calm and give them time.

The future could actually turn out brighter.

Im not one for believing everything i read , but there is nothing UNbelievable in the extracts .

They claim to have been willing to fund a striker in Jan ie Billy Sharp but considering the wages he is on we could have only offered him a deal to end of the season. Barring Roberts who was really available to drop down to us?

Oh and we could afford 40k a WEEK in wages for a striker, yet they are having to lay off some staff at the club due to the financial situation, hmmmmmmm doesn't quite stack up that.

thanks for the summary from the paper. its very helpful for people outside of the area. I wonder if the Pearson dismissal has a conflict of interest element. Didn't I read somewhere about the Allam's investing in (or giving loans to) Hull KR? With Pearson being the owner of Hull FC that could be considered a conflict of interest.
