http://www.thisishullandeastriding....riendly-says/story-12927357-detail/story.html Replacement friendly not yet announced. They will do well to pull something interesting at out the bag at short notice.
Why not do Grimsby again and still give them the money for the youth set up? I'm sure a Tuesday night wouldn't make that much difference, home or away
Adam P. mentioned it would be a local side last night. So pick one from Grimsby - Scunthorpe or York City ?? But where ????
He specifically said it wouldn't be Grimsby. They are already playing Barton and Winterton on that Tuesday & Wednesday. I see Grimsby will now travel to Barnsley on July 23rd. Not a bad swap if you've already bought a ticket! Unusual for the lower placed team to travel.
Yeah I'd definitely go 2 that, wil b a rite epic match I reckon LOL! Feyenoord fans will stil b in Hull so the police wil b on guard regardless, think City may arrange an away friendly (Scunny maybe?)
I'm sure the actions of a mindless few in York last year have not helped the situation for the proposed Feyenord friendly, the knock on affect of this is that it is likely that no Dutch clubs will travel to us on pre season for a few years now, a real dissapointment as with the ferry link we should be looking at regular pre season games with teams from Belgium and Holland, home and away
My understanding was that there wasn't really any mindless few in York, but an overblown reaction by local plod to local youths misreported in the local press.
Those involved, mainly kids, were in a proper mess even before they got to York. I was at the game with a bunch of mates who came on the train with them and as soon as they stopped in York, they made a sharp exit as they could see it was going to end in tears. I don't think plod handled it very well and and there were a load of York lads waiting at the station, so it wasn't all one sided, but those lads did really make a mess of the place.
We got to York just after it apparently kicked off in the pub and we saw all the coppers standing around. We also saw two sets of supporters have a go at each other and exchange verbals from the otherside of the street, but nowt came of it. I agree the so called violence was overblown.
What has gone on with this Feyenoord 'debacle' then? I've been away for a couple of weeks and I don't get what's going on. I guess it's been cancelled but why?
