http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull-City-fans-warned-use-flares/story-19973955-detail/story.html Some on here should read this and take note.
They look great if your aloud to launch smoke bombs around a paint ball field how dangerous can they be. Obviously flares are different but if used with a bit of brains whats the problem.
These display flares aren't really any different to the paint-ball ones, they're the same ones used by skydivers and the like, they're not dangerous(unless someone sticks one in your eye).
So some of you think that using something like that in a confined space is a good idea? You're really comparing falling out of an aircraft, with the smoke billowing away behind you to standing or sitting on terraces? I'm sure the people who have been injured by them, and despite your head in the sand assertions that they're not dangerous, might have a different view on their safety. Are you all also happy to have games delayed due to the smoke, which is fine on a paintball arena, which is designed to restrict visibility? This same paintball arena where people are running around with masks and helmets on? How do you see them used? Set off and dropped at the foot of the user or thrown? You seriously do not see any issues with this? Assuming there are "safe" flares, which there isn't, and assuming their use was restricted to the idiot using them to having to hold them (hey, they're safe!), how would you go about ensuring the "dangerous" flares aren't taken into grounds? 100% searches of all supporters? Banning them is the most sensible option. No-one gets hurts. Games aren't delayed. They don't create a better atmosphere, they cause annoyance and make the thing you actually there to do, i.e. watch the game, harder.
You'd be equally annoyed if they banned your flask and blanket. In the rest of Europe and the USA they're commonplace, there's hundreds of them and nobody gets hurt, thousands of people don't have spontaneous asthma attacks and games go ahead without any problems, they even provide mental bins for them to keep the place tidy.
You think an open topped 25,000 seater stadium is a confined space? You must have a ****ing massive house.
Soz, no flask here, or blanket. Nobody gets hurt? That's also a lie. No problems? games get delayed due to the smoke affecting visibility, so that's another lie. Mental bins is a great description btw, kudos for that. Kinda surprised you want to change our heritage and way we support games to be more like the Europeans and Americans.
This has been done before and i pm's DMD with facts about the contents of these. And not to make him look a total prat, Well lets just say he totally wrong about them and didnt take it well and trier to back track on it (prick) All i say it look into the contents of ALL smoke bombs and theres your answer! SIMPLE!
Did you fear for your safety? Was it all a bit much for you? It's no wonder the atmosphere at the KC is ****.
