    This is staggering.

The rule has always in place and if he had applied himself to his job at NUFC he wouldn't have had to move on.

    Cause and effect..

Maybe we can put a claim in as we ultimately pay his wages and he was impersonating a footballer towards the end......

Hatem Ben Arfa’s good start to the season with Nice suggest his time off the pitch after being banned from playing with Nice for five months have done him the world of good.
The player moved from Newcastle to Nice in January 2015 after being released from his contract by the Magpies, but was unable to play for them until the start of this season after having played for both Hull and Newcastle United U21s in the 2014-2015 season.
Rules stipulate that a player can play for no more than two clubs in one season, meaning Ben Arfa had to train by himself for five months before being able to integrate his new club.
Following said ban, the attacking midfielder has now decided to take legal action against FIFA for ‘loss of wage’ and ‘loss of career’.
According to France Football, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) should give their verdict towards the end of the month regarding Ben Arfa’s complaint.
The player is trying to claim €4m in compensation for the time he missed away from the football pitch.
Now 28, Ben Arfa is clearly trying to enjoy what is left of his career as much as possible, and stopping him from playing for five months because he played for a club’s U21s seems a bit harsh.
However, those are the rules, and we will keep an eye out on the verdict to see if the CAS are prepared to force FIFA into giving him some kind of compensation.

I really wish we had Ben Arfa under another manager.

Already scored a few goals for Nice I believe. He's a bit of a child, but there are many footballers the same who have been reasoned with to a certain degree.

Pardew is a cock and has no right to talk about players having attitude problems with his conduct at times. As soon as he headbutted Meyler he should have been sacked. Any other club, he would have been.

<laugh> So glad we got rid of this tool. You'd think he'd just move as all his problems were self inflicted. He owes Pardew a massive debt for teaching him a little discipline if he has changed his ways. I'm not convinced. To be fair he is mostly badly advised, and his immaturity allows this to happen.

    Hugely talented, absolute bell end

But the issue was, the other 37 games we effectively had 10 men.

One of his gripes is his game for Newcastle U.21's is being counted as a league appearance, which surely can't be right.

What is the purpose of this rule though. I think he sort of has a point.

Wouldn't you think that any footballer and their well paid agents would know the rules - which aren't exactly new?
If not, perhaps they're not the brightest sparks in the world.

If you then move onto a club, managed by someone as amiable as Steve Bruce, and you somehow **** it up again, surely you only have yourself to blame.
A bit of a dickhead if he still didn't know the rules.

Think its right he sues FIFA For loss of earnings if it doesn't clearly state that the U21 games count in the rules. He might be better suing Greggs for loss of career.

The bloke is the architect of his own downfall. He can surely have no complaints.
