Going to make it hard to support England in that game. Good news for us though - - it shows them they don't need to play for a London club in order to get selected
Apparently Ben Arfa is going to play as a striker? Hmmm. Oh well lol. Him and Benzema with Cabaye and Nasri supporting = fap fap fap fap fap
I'd love to see England do well but every time Cabaye of Ben Arfa get the ball i'll be hoping they do something fantastic - if that costs England then so be it.
Bad for Newcastle and bad for England. However I don't subscribe to the selfish theory that its better when players are left at home. Sure they could get injured and could be tired for the start of the season, but its about national pride and being patriotic to me. All players should want to represent their country and no club should be blocking it.
Good for Newcastle I think. It can only be a selling point when trying to sign players that 3 of our squad (Krul for the Dutch) have been called up to their national sides. Actually, way more than 3 if you count the Argentinian and African contingent, but you know what I mean.
I think there definite upsides for the club commercially and in terms of transfers. But for me they are far outweighed by us getting back two of most infulential players tired for the start of the season. It could be a negative in terms of them putting themselves in the shop window too. Benni is the type who could light up a world cup. It could then be very tricky to keep a hold of him. Overall I'd say it was more a negative for the club. As I say I still wouldn't sit and say I'd prefer they didn't go. It would be hypocritical when I'd be clamouring for them to be there if they were English and playing for another club. It was the same when folk used to say "Owen was more interested in England, he should never have went to that World Cup". I always thought "**** off, I know what I'd be doing in his shoes, giving it a go"
Had a feeling Benny would get the nod. Blanc is a Cabaye fan so must have been watching our games and can't have failed to been impressed by Ben Arfa
