Not my list, it was the Daily Fail's. Fabregas plays as a regista these days alongside Matic, much deeper, not as a 'classic' playmaker. One or twice he has pushed up into the no 10 role in the second half. Even though Oscar occupies the no 10 slot, Hazard is in effect our playmaker; he just starts out wide.. Haven't seen a lot of Arsenal this season: is Sanchez playing the playmaker role more than Carzola?
Agree. Of course they make play. But they are more registas like Pirlo. I think the Fail is analysing players closer to the no 10 role higher up the field such as Mata, Silva, etc rather than registas (the modern deeper playmaker) such as Fabregas, Kroos, Pirlo, Xabi, Xavi, Modric etc. If you read the article, it says very clearly it is discussing "advanced playmakers" which correctly would rule registas out. I agree with you though. Playmakers are deeper these days.
