  2. He wont be leaving Arsenal permanently until his contract has run out. He's probably on 30/40k more than he's worth.

I'd say he's worth no more than 3 million.

someone will probably pay around £8m i would have thought, as he's a well known international striker. i don't know if anyone in the premier league would though, unless he has a good season with us. i hope if we sign him, we don't pay that much.

Very frustrating. He has what it takes to be a top player. Watch him closely and he makes some lovely runs, gets in some nice positions but our midfield are usually 4 moves behind him and in no way on his wave length.
Just as frustrating is that he comes very deep (leaving nothing up front) or goes very wide (leaving nothing up front) or gets in a strop and drifts out of the game (leaving nothing up front)
    To guessamate a value.
****e - Rubbish players go for 3/4 million
Rubbish to mediocre go for 5/6 million
mediocre - average go for 9/10 million
average with potential go for 10/15 million
potential and English go for 15/20 million
English - goalscorers go for 20/25 million
    Pool, Chelsea, City, 25-50 million

So at the moment I would say somewhere around the £7million mark.

If we were to sign him permanently, then anything over £4m is walk away time imo. He hasn't reached anywhere near full potential and is far from the finished article but if he were, then I'd happily pay £10m or £12m.

Also, if he is on £80k per week I'd walk away too as he isn't worth that.

I'm not saying I dont rate him, or like him as I think he could become a very good player but for what he is currently worth, £4m maximum fee and £40k per week (Arsenal would have to pick up some of the wages if he wants more) would be my best offer. If no party was happy with that, then I'd just simply move on without any regrets.

I think Wickham has all the potential to be far better a player anyway and would rather give him the game time when he is fit again. Surely we would have been better off meeting Bents or Gyans wage demands than spend £7m on Bendtner and £80k per week.

I'm sorry but Liverpool dont know the values of strikers in the modern game, I mean which daft buggers would pay £35m for a non league striker in Aunty Carroll? Suarez is a world class act and he only cost £24m? Mind, Carroll is much less bother than Suarez these days. Lol

Maybe Dagliesh will be putting a £100m + bid in for Bentner, as he is 3 times the player Carroll will ever be. Lol

The financial state of football see's very average players command decent sized transfer fee's.

For me, I'd say he'd be worth around the 7-10 million mark. He's still young, strong, shows good skill from time to time and who knows, maybe someone can even teach him to shoot?!
