Martin is still using bruces sh1t squad bar his 3 signings. This my fellow red n whites is it and shooting at thhe wrong end 1st half
He's also using Bruce's **** tactics, or is that tictacs? Did you just shake your ****ing tictacs at me?
So do you think the squad he inheritted was relegation fodder? I personally don't think it was/is, there's too many players currently struggling for form who - if they can be got playing - will have you comfortably mid-table. Put it this way, if you got relegated (and you wont, not by a long shot) I would expect almost all of your first team to declare themselves "too good for the championship". Your team isn't bad. M O'Neill will turn it around, he's a very very good manager.
The following players are good Mignolet Rose Sess AJ Fletcher You can build a team around that nucleus. Players like Bardsley, O'Shea, Colback and Cattermole are not bad players (average PL quality) and could work along side the "good" players. You need a Cabaye(esque) player who can create chances from the middle, another goalscorer and another CB. Whom these players could be is anyones guess. As Mushy knows, there are lots of quality abroad going for good prices.
I'd have happily had O'Neill come and manage Newcastle. A year ago, even 6 months ago, most Sunderland fans seemed (to me) to be happy they had him and most Newcastle fans were begrudgingly accepting the fact that this season the two teams would be close because of his influence. A few bad games don't make him a bad manager. Yesterday was shocking, I had no doubt you'd turn over Villa and there's no excuses as Villa are a poor team but these things happen. We almost lost to Villa ourselves, though we have been admittedly terrible so far this season too...
I know. This is the reason why I feel he is ineffective. He should be forced to work with a scout who knows the talent out there and forced into taking a punt. Going down by taking a gamble is admirable. To fail by not even venturing into the unknown once is unforgivable.
