How many Pompey threads have you started or joined now, since declaring us not worth the effort?

I voted yes, but your intention is to get as many Saints fans as possible, to follow the link and vote no, yes?

Godders, I declare you are obsessed with Pompey as SB3 is with Southampton.

    I despair of you.:)

As much as it may come as a surprise to you I voted yes and was hoping that others might do likewise.

I would really like Pompey to survive and to become a club run by the fans for the fans and so I hope the Trust succeeds.

Please don't always think the worst of me I am not really that shallow.

I wouldn't say you were shallow Godders. Not the diving board end either, but somewhere beyond the, no floats or armbands past this point sign.

I know you like us really. I see there are some comments under the vote option, but I refrained from reading them.

One day I might learn to swim but I fear I may be too late!

    I voted "no".

I want there to be a decent team from the ashes of this debacle and hopefully something fan-based will happen for them. But, for the good of the game this sort of behaviour has to stop and people just have to face reality. If they were not a football team they would have gone under a couple of years ago.

Its pretty much all about wages. This at least has been highlighted in the Portsmouth case. It wasn't even mentioned with Rangers.

I feel desperately sorry for the true fans I can only imagine how I would be feeling.

I see your point, and it's a very fair one. But this is Talksport, and that doesn't mean subtlety or complicated resolutions. They might as well have put up Love and Hate as options to vote for. To vote honestly, you have to go on the feeling that, if my club was in this position, how would I feel..?

    I voted Yes.

Luckily for all concerned our vote is not going to affect the outcome one way or another.

One of the few active things that it is hardly ever too late to try. Water is very supportive.

I find myself in a personal dilemma. What would I get the most enjoyment from? A saved but forever miserable Pompey wallowing around in the lower reaches for the next decade or so, or a liquidated Pompey that has to start again and having Havant & Waterlooville as their rivals. It's a tough one to call.

So I decided that if I could be bothered to vote, I would vote for the genuine, decent, honest, real and proper fans out there. As we all know that only applies to Saints fans so the answer would have to be NO.

I voted no, because when somebody is dead you don't keep on trying CPR. And if Southampton were in the same situation i'd want to see the same thing.

Although I don't swim anywhere near as often as I used to, I got in the pool a few weeks back and managed about 20 or so fairly frenetic lengths. I was there because my elder sister has never been able to submerge her head in water, out of fear, and therefore has never really mastered swimming. At last, at 67, she is trying properly. Throughout my time of going to the pool, I've seen babies and 90 year olds learning side by side, so there's no barrier providing you are OK'ish. The limit is largely in one's head only. Until I was 30, I was almost a non-swimmer, in that I could swim a crippling couple of lengths. I had all the non-swimmer fears and excuses. Then my new girlfriend, who swam like a fish, taught me how to swim properly, and the key to that, above all things, is breath control. You can have all the technique you like, but if you don't learn to control your breathing, you'll never swim for any distance. I used to gulp in all the air I could - totally wrong. You actually take in the minimum air you can get away with, and you do it at a regular rhythm. Provided this intake is sufficient to keep your muscles supplied with oxygenated air, you will not get tired. I banged at this door of poor air control for weeks, and then I got it, and went from a couple of lengths of the pool to unlimited [ie. I got out when I was bored - after about a mile or more] in about 3-4 months, going twice a week.

That swimming lark has saved me twice, after falling overboard sailing boats in the Solent and Hauraki Gulf, and I ran a swimming pool in NZ and became in instructor, for a short while. I think I still have my old life saving certificate around somewhere. Stupid eh..? Could barely swim at 30 and ended up doing that.
