Can you name them please? As I really don't think its possible!

I don't see how this horse can possibly be beaten. There is nothing that can get him off the bridle, never mind actually beat him. He is something special, alot better than anything ive ever seen.

No,no he wont and yes he is.And i hope for the love of the sport Simonsig and Flemenstar stick to 2 miles next year.
SS is a 200+ horse and i hope and pray he gets to show us that.

For the sake of his own legacy he needs some real competition, only then can we judge just how good he might be. He hasn't been off the bridle yet, which is a scary thought, but if he keeps mopping up in the (very weak) 2 mile divsion there will inevitably be calls to step him up in trip. Because he just appears to be lobbing around in every race we really have no idea how far he might stay, nor how good he might be. I think he could win 4 or 5 Champion Chases and go down in history as probably the greatest 2 mile chaser ever, but he needs to beat some more talented beasts in order to be considered the greatest ever.

I'm afraid as good as Simonsig and Flemenstar are, both of those would struggle to beat Sizing Europe, who is a class horse in his own right, and has won a champion chase in the past. Yet Sprinter Sacre laughed at him, and made him look like a class 4 handicapper, as he breezed 19 lengths clear, without even coming off the bridle.

Simonsig may aswell step up in trip, as there is no chance of him ever being able to defeat this racing machine:biggrin:

He really is impressive, in every respect. Being a 2 miler I'm not sure how he would have fared against Flyingbolt or Dunkirk. The only minor criticism is his jumping. When he thrashed Sanctuaire the first time he was being out-jumped early on. Even old Sizing Europe was out-jumping him today. BUT, despite that he still wins easily. If he could jump like Pendil he would be rated well over 200. He is definitely a joy to watch and for me he is the Frankel of NH. To have those two in the same calendar year...............well, we are just spoilt aren't we. Just imagine if, like Kauto, he moves up to 3 miles. He's just got time to make 5 KGs.

KS,so by your thinking all trainers should bypass taking SS on because they would have no chance?
The 2 aforementioned horses are incredibly talented and IMO both would beat SE.I want to see SS face them both and would love nothing more than for him to beat them on the bridle.

I would say the reason the Champion Chase was lacking in depth this season, is down to his massive presence. No one wanted to take him on, including last years winner Finians Rainbow, and Cue Card.

Sprinter Sacre has made the division weak as nothing even dares take him on, when infanct the division could actually be pretty strong if there weren't so many pointless alternatives for scared trainers to place there horses.

Still it wouldn't make any difference, as to which horses had shown up today, as there is no horse around that could beat Sizing Europe 19 lengths hard held

Shergar I think breeding has made the 2 mile division weak for many years now, with the odd exception popping up from time to time - Moscow Flyer and Master Minded probably the 2 best over the last 10-15 years prior to Sprinter Sacre's arrival. The speedsters (more and more flat-bred) have tended to stay over hurdles and the stoutly bred chasing types usually end up stepping up in trip. There is, however, hope in the shape of the growing influence of French NH sires as they certainly tend to inject more speed into the pedigree.

I'm sorry Ron, but I am absolutely astounded that you believe Sprinter Sacre's weakness is his jumping.

Sanctuaire was never 'out jumping' him, and never could. There is no horse around the can 'out jump' Sprinter Sacre IMO.

He did make 1 uncharacteristic mistake today, something which I've never seen him do before, though most horses do that from time to time. I wouldn't read to much into 1 minor error.

Barry Geraghty, a winner of 5 champion chases, says he has never been on a horse that jumps so well:biggrin:

I think your underestimating Sizing Europe. Il accept that he probably wasn't at his very best today being 11 years old, but he is still a quality horse who has won all his races this year.

This is a horse who has already won an Arkle and a Champion Chase, and on this seasons performances I'd be pretty certain he would beat either Simonsig or Flemenstar.

Look at Simonsig yesterday, being flogged all out to beat Bailey Green, yet you think he could trouble SE?

In time Simonsig could get close to SEs level, as there is potential for his jumping to improve, but on this seasons form, no way

OK Shergar, but I watched that race against Sanctuaire and Sanctuaire was jumping like a stag in the lead and some of SS's jumping was not so foot perfect. Granted when SS moved up and strolled past Sanctuaire his jumping was brilliant.

Incidentally that's not exactly what BG said is it. I can quote him exactly if you want but it makes no difference. SS is the best I've seen for a long time and the best BG has ever ridden.

Probably isn't exactly how I put it Ron, as I'm just going roughly by memory, and his comments were along those lines.

From my opinion, and I'm not claiming to be any expert, I have never seen a horse jump as easily as SS, nor have I ever seen a horse clear his fences by so much.

I remember seeing his debut over the big obstacles and thinking that is the best debut id ever seen. he was still a little novicey if that's a word, but every time he hit one on a decent stride he was spectacular.

The fact Geraghty believe's he is better than Moscow Flyer, says it all as he was a superb 2 miler, one of the best of all time. Who can forget Big Zeb either, he was pretty decent aswell, knocking Master Minded off his perch.

I hope Simonsig and co take him on next season, as it will be funny just to watch what he does to yet another hype horse, after he has already dismantled so many previous hype horse's. So called 'threats' such as Peddlars Cross, Al Ferof, Cue Card, and most notably this season Sanctuaire, have all been destroyed by this horse.

If Simonsig's connections dare to to stay at 2 mile's next season, he will be joining that list

I really don't get why the connections of Kinkeel always put him in races that he cannot win. It's like all 16 stone of me taking on Mo Farah in a 10,000 metres race

The funny thing is even if I joined the race just for the last lap, after Mo Farah had already run 9600 metres, I'd still get beat half the track

Until he beats Kinkeel in the Queen Mother i can't say he is more special than anything else i've seen <whistle>

But on a serious note, he is the best i've ever seen, i mean he really is a Machine.

lol To get your thread back on track Sprinter looks fantastic, the best I've ever seen over 2 miles but he probably needs to add to his title haul for me to claim him as the greatest ever but he has the potential...

Did you have a lumpy one on him today Shergy?! Are you still getting up at 5 studying the form in the RP these days, you ain't been on much?

Kinkeel has won a fair few bob finishing 5th and 6th in graded races without being knocked about.
