8 wins from 9, rvp has scored 28 in 27 games, have we finally turned the corner and can we now accelerate up the table? A part of me is always wary because we can go through really bad spells but we are definately a different side now. Although i think wenger will buy about 3 players in january, although we conceded 3 goals we were actually pretty solid for the last 30 mins. So many of our players played fantastically. We just need to keep taking each game as it comes and look at progressing to the next spot above us, we can definately get top 4 and there seems to be no pressure on us atm. The players are expressing themselves and we are keeping the ball very well. Onwards and upwards hopefully.

  2. What Jayram said.

You'll remember what happened earlier in the season after Udinese Part 2 when Pat Rice said we had turned the corner. However I'd like to stay cautiously optimistic. We're not there yet but this is as good a way as any to start building up confidence in the team. The boys need to know they can do it, something which has been missing for a while now. We still need to get certain elements of our play right. Once we iron out these weaknesses, it can only be on the up again. Taking each game as it comes is probably the best way to approach the season.

I don't think there will be a turning point, but there are signs of the team gelling, our confidence getting back and us improving in attack and defense

and there will only be more improvement plus Wilshere, Vermalean etc coming back

Can we stop, turning corners, coming unstuck, becoming contenders, losing the plot, finding our form, having no character, being a top four club, dropping out of the top four, being a big club, becoming a small club, being title hopefuls, no longer being able to compete with the big boys, and whatever else we seem to keep doing to either write ourselves off, or on.

Our position at the end of the year represents our form over the entire year, our luck, and how well the coaching team prepare and pick the players for each game, as well as the quality of all the opposition teams on the day we play them and it cannot be accurately predicted, or there would not be an industry making billions of dollars out of the fools that think they can predict football results.

What we can say is that this team is not as bad as many thought they were and there is a chance that the first few results of the season may not have been a fair reflection on their ability. I think we can also say that it is going to be nerve-wracking watching them as, far from tightening up, they have almost gone the other way and taken a, if you score 3 we will score 5 approach.

I think the fact that Jayram, Robin Van Bergkamp and Mr Wright are now talking about 'cautious optimism' is ****ing bigger turn around than our season so far <laugh>
