Mentioned this in another thread. Think we're one CDM short of a world class spine. Mvila.....if only. Need to pray the names on your list don't get injured.

Shouldn't have sent Faurlin out on loan. I'm sure he would have picked up.

It's a far better spine than we started the season with, I just hope we can find some attacking impetus against the 'lesser' sides starting today...

I think Zamora in place of Remy in the spine and Remy playing off him. Zamora, when at his best, is a strong commanding presence up front and can really hassle the defence and make space for Remy. Its a good spine. On balance my concerns are: will offensive midfield options work well in practice, as part of a team? and do we have enough striking options? I think we all worry about injuries to key players but even Man Utd have found they are not entirely free of that worry and we have to be realistic. Big day today. COYRssssss!!

If Diakite ever gets his act together then he could also be a serious player for us. His marauding runs have been missed. Along with M'Bia, they could be a deadly double act, pace, energy, momentum, strength, red cards...........

been the disappointment of the season for me, I hoped he would be the tower of strength in midfield we could build the team around

That's not a bad spine is it. Much more commitment in that spine than we've had for some time.
Mbia is a slight worry, he needs to be disciplined in his role. Tarbs is a big loss if injured, no other real playmaker in the centre and going forward without him. Liking the backmline of Cesar/Hill/Samba (when 100% fit) with good option of Onouha too. They now have to all ..... gel <cheers>

This... apart from the red cards, of course.

A win today and I will really start to believe. Certainly we are showing real spine in recent games. I left LR with a spring in my step last Tuesday night. My first match since Harry took over and pride restored. Great atmosphere as well. Catching up with fellow not606ers capped off a thoroughly enjoyable night.

If (and it's a big one) Diakite comes back with his batteries recharged he may be the answer. be great to have two CDMs who can bring the ball out of defence into attack without the sideways pass or good old fashioned hoof ball

I think that Cesar and Adel are our most important players. We really don't have cover for them

We shouldn't of loaned out Cisse. Great player to have as sub: his goals for the club have mainly come in the second half of matches. Fundamental mistake, I feel, particularly as we seemed to have kept Bothroyd.

If Remy gets injured, who would lead your attack then? :)

Unfortunately I posted this without seeing the other threads about Remy's injury. Got to see that HR has made a huge error here; he might have needed to free up some finances but we've taken out the best goalscorer in the squad, even though he could be a lazy git.

Think Mackie's worth a go: did well, IMO, when played centrally early in HR's tenure. His form only dipped when he got shunted out to the wing again. Must grasp this opportunity.

Heard someone mention in here that we almost have a "world class" spine. Delusion at its finest!
