With reports in some papers that negotiations haven't even started on a new contract for Rooney, is it possible that all we've managed to do (like SAF persuaded CR to stay) is to keep hold of him for one more season with the promise of playing up front with the World Cup looming next Summer as a showcase for his talents to prospective suitors. The boy still hasn't put transfer rumours to bed with any form of statement, rather all he keeps saying is that he just wants to get his head down and let his football do the talking - but to who?
to be fair there's only a handful of clubs that could afford his fee and wages, city and the chavski are his only options here I would suggest, can't see him playing abroad tbh.... who knows but he seems to have wanted out for a while now.
Yeah you may be onto something, although I'm sure the club would prefer to ship him off overseas, Chelsea seems like the obvious destination for him.
