Have a look about halfway down this list of rumours http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=244351
I hope not! £5mill is far too much for someone who I thought looked lazy and pretty average most of the time last season. He show the odd bit of class with some goals he scored but nothing special. I know I have said we should try to get Snodgrass but from what i have seen of him, he IS better than Lansbury. Lansbury is young but for me I cant see him making it at Prem level.
Dont agree with you there bedford, the bloke has come through the ranks of arsenal, he looked a very good player last season (not lazy atall), he showed the class of a prem player from day one (against the scum) and he played last couple of months with slight injury hence why he was on the bench so much but i would have lansbury over snodgrass anyday! To the rumour, its nonsense! He's out with u21's and i think something would have been heard by now if we were to sign him on loan let alone permently...
There really is some odd rumours there, surely the press conference tomorrow will just be wrapping up the Bennett deal? Although those other rumours look quite tasty.
Can't believe someone said he's average - looked a class act to me, doubt the rumour is true though. I too would love to see Jonny Evans here on loan, would be a great addition at the back. Did really well with Vidic when 'fish boy' was out injured.
No offence Bedford, but you must have very high standards to consider Lansbury "Average". I think classy players can sometimes look lazy cos they create so much space for themselves that they seem to have forever to pick the right pass. £5m would be a bargain for a young player of his class and Wenger is unlikely to let his players go for bargain basement prices! Its a nice dream tho!
to call lansbury lazy is one of the most ridiculous statements i've read for a while! the boy never stopped running, and even when we used him as an impact sub he always gave 100% - the boy is a class act at championship level. whether he will be good enough for arsenal is another question but certainly good enough for us! i'm sure £5m is too much though...
I personally rate Lansbury very highly, but I think Wenger does too. With time against Wenger to win another trophy, he could be ready to cash in on him to bring in some star quality as his 'kids policy' isn't going down too well with the board and fans alike, so it would seem. I personally don't think there's much truth in it but I have seen that Brighton are ready to move for him.....they are pissing in the wind if they think he's going there. He wants to fight for his place at Arsenal, just don't think he'll get the chance this season. Hopefully, in some form, he will return to us as I think he has great star potential.
I didn't think he looked lazy either, perhaps it was because he made everything look so simple.... Speaking of lazy, heard Martin may be off to Barnsley for £750k. Don't think that would be bad for him however, I think we should pop a sell on clause in just in case he does live up to his potential. Clearly one of the best finishers we have but doesn't look to put in enough of a shift. Perhaps now we are in the Prem, he'll pull his socks up and work hard over pre-season. Thoughts?
Another rumour that has cropped up is that of ritchie de laet! Personally if we were to get him this will be the first signing i would question, he was average in the championship with pompey and is not exactly what i would say we need in such an important position and one that needs one real decent aquasition! I really think we should move for stephen caulker as i think he would be a qaulity addition but swansea will beat us to him me thinks...
Sorry to have offended everyone! Personal opinion i guess. I just think too many people remember the great game he had vs the scum and little else. I concede that the boy has potential and class but for me he is like Chris Martin and David Bentley and thinks he is already the business. I hope im proved wrong next season whether he is with us or Arsenal. PS Holtys boots, the fact that he came through Arsenals ranks does not automatically make him amazing.
I don't think you offended anyone (other than Henri if he's reading this lol) everyone is entitled to an opinion after all. However not looking at him with rose tinted ipswich town match specs on he clearly wasn't lazy and worked his bum off every time he was on the pitch and would be a quality signing/loanee I for one will be disappointed if we don't have his services at all next season as he was a quality act even in the matches which we lost.
He certainly looked good for England U21's last night. Probably our best player. Not sure why pearce doesn't start him.
I think he'll later regret (If we dont get him) going on record to not wanting to come back to Norwich as he wants to try and get into the Arsenal squad. Let's be honest isnt going to happen. Such a wasted talent just turning up training getting wages and playing the odd reserve and league cup game.
i'm pretty certain that he never said that he did not want to come back to city, rather that he wanted to do his best to get into the first team squad at gunners and failing that he would love to rejoin the canaries as he really liked it here last season. just a lad with ambition, exactly as PL likes them.

I hope im proved wrong next season whether he is with us or Arsenal. bedford...ridiculous...hang you head sir... lansbury was an absolute hero last season...100% we'd not be where we are without him - its not just the scum match he shined in - bristol city, 89th minute - millwall at home in stoppage time - and thats just where he made the headlines...a great player who played like he was one of our own - fantastic future ahead of him - sadly i doubt it would ever be at norwich...
