... that maybe we haven't had any luck in transfers because Warnock and his colleagues aren't very good at making them happen? It's possible. Is it all because of lack of funds from Briatore and Ecclestone? Why are they getting the blame when we don't really know the truth of it. Just a thought.

As far as I know, we have missed out on one transfer, and we don't know the reason why. It may be that Warnock wasn't that desperate on getting Graham and only saw him as a backup player, whereas Swansea guaranteed him first team football. He may have a series of deals already lined up which will only be revealed when player’s contracts expire at the end of the month.
As ever, we are all too ready to believe the worst and think that we can see the whole picture. If Saviola was a done deal, would we care too much about missing out on Graham?

Graham as a backup player, wishful thinking I would say. If only it was true. I hope you are proven right but I think not.

You could try and second guess a players reasons for not joining, but at the end of the day nobody except the player will ever know why.

Warnock isn't everyone's cup of tea, nor will we be anybodies first choice while the press are still making out that Warnock could be on his way.

If anyone thought that this year would be easy then it's off to cloud cuckoo land for you. Like all newly promoted teams it will be a gutsy fight for survival this year and that was always going to be the case.

Warnock is trying to pick the best from the CCC and League 1 because they are what's available. We can't compete for successful players in the Premiership, but there will be an abundance of premiership talent that will be available once teams announce their squads for the season, so it would be silly to waste money on unproven players when better players will become available.

People moaned all last summer regarding our transfers, yet for those with more patients were rewarded with the signing of Adel the day before the season started. So let's just relax and wait and see what happens.

I'm only floating it as a possiblility because I'm getting fed up with all the "doom and gloom", "let's buy anyone for the sake of it", "why does no one want to come here?" type threads.

Does anyone really think that Craig MacKail-Smith is the answer?

We will not know all that is going on. Not all the bids and deals get leaked to the press. Let's just trust Warnock to sort it out. He will have some money to spend, he will know what positions are weakest and we must have confidence that he will get the best combination of signings he can to improve the team.

Well said. That's exactly my point. Also it doesn't matter how much backing Warnock has, he'd never spend anywhere near that amount as he will not be held to ransom. So there will be more than enough money for what he wants to do in the transfer market.

I think we were outbid for Graham.. Maybe Rangers thought 3.5m was to much! ( i would agree)..
CMS.. Are we actually in for him?? No one has said anything from the club its all paper talk, as is Andy Johnson..
DJ Cambell that is true the club would like him on board..

The player that I would love to get is Daniel Sturridge, in my opinion a far better prospect that Graham.

Agree Dens, Sturridge would be a perfect addition. Seen him live and he's pretty confident and effective for his age and stage. Also a junior who had his foot in the first team door last season. Can't see him as a Rangers player bought and paid for. Be great to have him on a season-long loan though.
