If I recall last season was the first time we had spent money it god knows how long and it was on people like Pawell Abbott for sums of 50k... Now things have changed a new board is at the club and although many people said there claims to spend money would fall flat they have gone through with there promise New signing Dale Stevens costing near 400k and Danny green looking to be on his way for the same 400k added to the signing of BWP for something like 300k. All of this and we are looking for more players. So this is just to say well done to the board for going through with there promise It is also the first season in god knows how long we have finally decided to revamp the team which is great to see....two more CB and bring Yado mambo into the squad and we will be a force to be reckoned with next year
Yeah i must admit to being impressed with what we have captured in relatively short time, who cares about the jennings mistake. Good signs.
I agree that MS and TJ deserve a huge pat on the back. When Slater sent that letter out back in March, half scoffed at it whilst the other half had taken note. He has been true to his words- now it's time for us to do our bit by ordering season tickets.
Impressive 1st pre-season,so far by the Board.... lets hope they are rewarded for their financial backing with Promotion!
Are they not funding it by the money we made from the FA Cup Run and the sale of Carl Jenkinson? I am impressed by what they are investing in the club. Really am worried, that if you look at teams like Huddersfield, they've spent "BIG" money too and have failed to leave get promoted. If it goes t*** up (or not in the top 3), I can see the board sacking Chris Powell, (especially with the money that they've spent) and look where they got us last season when they got rid of Parky.
Not really. It has been reported that the club anticipate another £4m loss this year, and that excludes buying players, so even if we got £1.5m for Jenkinson, the board would still have to stump up £2.5m shortfall. I reckon by the time the season comes around the new board will have spent around £2m on new signings, therefore this season should see them have to make up £4.5m.
I just hope they're not going for the s**t or bust approach in an attempt to get us up by hook or by crook...!! After all nothing can be more important than the continued existence of our great club...
