I know this is unlikely and I know it would be controversial and I know some people love him and that some people hate him but would you consider bringing HBA back if it was a free transfer. I know Rafa wouldn't but the question is, would you. https://www.footballfancast.com/soc...-links-with-former-star-player-hatem-ben-arfa
No - too much of a show pony and would totally destroy the team/squad ethic Rafa has so carefully built. Great individual talent on his day, but how many of those were there Given that Mbemba was supposedly dropped last season for not following team instructions, how do you think little Benny would get on?
He's a talent but sadly is also a complete cock, if we were mad enough to bring him back I'd have to become a mackem, that's how much I think of that idea.
Yes for me, pawn Diame off for a packet of wotsits and HBA as back up to Perez in the AM position. Edit: But only on a free and if his wages were reasonable - which they wont be coming from PSG...
Why is 17 goals in 34 games incredible? Couldn't get into the Hull first team, then does well in a **** league. He was lazy, fat and disruptive, and even when he was on form he was a total liability - always wanted to take the entire opposition team on and would always lose the ball and cost us goals. Leave him rotting on the PSG bench.
You can imagine Rafa taking him aside to talk tactics, and Hatem being like, "cut inside and shoot from distance? Got it boss" Would totally have him back though. But out of that clutch of players if I could choose one it would be Cabaye.
I would put Ginola up there as well but on pure ability (unfortunately not application) Hatem was World Class it was just a pity about the application.
Only a moron would bring him back. We had him at his best. He was a tit then. Since then bar one season he has been a fat useless mess. I can't see any value in it for us. I could see him at Wolves. That is his level these days.
