Yet more beel from HBA... No one seems to mention the fact that he rocked up fat as **** with an piss poor attitude. Both Bruce and Sir Alan must be bad judges eh Hatem. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hatem-ben-arfa-takes-fresh-11402391? Hatem Ben Arfa says that Newcastle United left him feeling “very humiliated” when they relegated him to the reserves two years ago. Former Toon boss Alan Pardew said that managing Ben Arfa “became impossible” in 2014 and the playmaker was dropped to the second string before being loaned out to Hull City and eventually released on a free transfer. He has since sparkled in Ligue 1 with Nice and been linked with a move to some of the top clubs in Europe, including Barcelona. Speaking to Journal du Dimanche, Ben Arfa spoke of his pain at United two years ago and said: “In 2014, Newcastle sent me to the reserves for two months. “I was called up normally for training, I would get changed in the senior squad dressing room, but then I would work with the youngsters on some remote pitch; you had to walk a long time to get there. I felt very humiliated, but this episode taught me patience. “Six months later, when my contract with Nice was not approved, I had a desire to throw the towel in. “But that feeling only lasted for ten minutes, because I had not yet accomplished everything that I wanted. “It was impossible for me to finish like that.”
Trying to be fair, there were faults on both sides. Hatem's attitude stunk at times but what did Newcastle expect given his history and his level of talent which sensibly we shouldn't have been able to afford. He was a flawed genius which was why we were able to get him in the first place but Pardew's man management of Hatem left a heck of a lot to be desired.
Parcel was constantly blaming him every time he wasn't lighting it up or we weren't winning. He bullied him essentially and when bullied you behave badly and play badly. Even when he wasn't fat he was starting Sammy ameobi ahead of him ffs!!!! Hatam played a large part in us finishing 5th I met him and thank him for his time here. I'm happy he's outgrown our shifty arse Club
I think us finishing 5th was more to do with the 29 goals scored by Ba and Cisse, Cabaye was more influential than HBA
I blame Pardew entirely. You can't expect a maverick like Hatem to operate within the confines of a professional environment. You just have to let him do what he wants, and pander to his needs. Some will say you risk upsetting the other members of the squad, however the other members of the squad aren't as good as him. All this talk of team work and team ethics is overrated. Yeah yeah Leicester and all that bollocks. Therefore you have to tailor your club around his needs to get the best from him. I'm sure many will say "Yeah but he only turned up once every 6 or 7 games". Indeed but how good was that game is the question they should ask themselves. So he liked a few chicken cottages along the way, big deal. Come on we all like a cheeky Nando's now and again. People say if Ronaldo or Messi are team players and will chase the ball down, track back. However perhaps Hatem is better than them, and just understands the game on a different level. Perhaps he as transcended football in a way they never could. Verdict: Definitely Pardewed
I didn't say otherwise just think he played a big part Away at Fulham and swansea spring to mind but also home at Bolton. We actually had a good attack
I agree Especially when you have the professional alternatives in gouffran and Sammy ameobi Also I'm highly unprofessional in my line of work, however I'm simply brilliant at it.
Funny how he constantly goes on about his time at NUFC. l Like a long lost lover who broke your heart and you cannot quite forget them, even though they treated you badly. Personally l think he misses us.
I don't normally defend HBA, but had the manager shown him a little bit of TLC, the club may have reaped the reward. Instead, the team blossomed with first Cabella and then Thauvin as replacements, ably backed up by **** all else.
