There is a debate going on about where Ben Arfa should start for Newcastle, right mid or up front. Against QPR, in my opinion, Hatem Ben Arfa MUST start on the wing. There has been talk about how QPR have no Barton and Faurlin, so that should ensure that we dominate the centre of midfield hopefully, but Traore is also unavailable as he is at ACN.

In my opinion Traore is a very good left back and I don't know who they have as back up left back but this is our chance to put HBA out on the wing and up against someone who is either out of position or short of games this season and he could run riot.

What team would everyone play on Sunday?

This thread is crying out for a poll.

    I'd play :

    Krul
    Simmo Willo Colo Santon
    BenArfa Cabaye Guthrie Jonas
    Best Shameobi.

Although I wouldn't be too disappointed if Pardew went for :

    Krul
    Simmo Willo Colo Santon
    Ober Cabaye Guthrie Jonas
    BenArfa Best

Because lets face it, even Obertan should be able to destroy whoever QPR's second choice lb is.

If Guthrie isn't fit then put Abeid in. <ok>

    On the wing.

I didn't think he could cross tbh, but quite a few times since he's been here, he's shown that he could cut back on his left, and whip in a great in swinging cross.

He can also drift into the center, and seemed to try quite hard to track back.

    I'd play this line up

    ---------Shola--------Best----------

    Jonas--------------------------Hatem

    --------Guthrie------Cabaye---------

    Santon---Colo------Willo--------Simpson

    --------------Krul--------------------

    <ok>

    Krul
    Raylor Wilo Colo Santon
    HBA Abeid Cabaye Jonas
    Best Ameobi

that would be the best to start with...but he might put Obertan on the wing and play HBA behind Best

    Krul
    Simmo Willo Colo Santon
    HBA Cabaye (unsure) Jonas
    Best Shola

Has to be this. Just has to be.
Unsure yet about who to stick in the middle. If Guthrie is fit enough to start then probably him.

    HBA + RW = <magic>

I just don't think best is good enough up top by himself so another cf is needed. So yeah i'd put hba on the wing aswell

I'd personally go for the following...

    Krul
    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon
    HBA Cabaye Guthrie Jonas
    Best Ameobi

Abeid instead of Guthrie if he is not fit!

Obertan. Like you said anyone should be able to destroy a second choice left back. Might give Ober the bit of confidence he needs.

    ---------Krul----------
    Sim--Willo--Colo--Sant
    Raylor--Cabaye--Jonas
    --------HBA----------
    -----Best---Shola----

Though I have to admit, Tash's line up looks pretty tasty as well.

Jonas is right-footed, Hatem is Left-footed. Better switching them.

Jonas came as a RW/RM. 'tis magic though

Raylor in for simmo in my opinion. he offers a lot more going forward with his deliveries. i predict that we'll have the lions share of the ball so defending won't be as critical against qpr. go all out attack imo.

    I'd play:

    Krul

    Simpson - Williamson - Coloccini - Santon

    Taylor - Abeid - Cabaye - Jonas

    Ben Arfa

    Ameobi

When Guthrie comes back from injury he is usually awful, so I'd keep him as a sub and play Abeid.

    3-0 win I reckon

I'd prefer to see this type of shape to the team, allows the 3 supporting players to have a bit of freedom to interchange position. Only issue would be Best might become isolated.

Obertan, would be a decent sub to bring on against a tiring defence usin this system.

Trying them on opposite wings may be a step too far for Pards to consider....one step at a time. :D
