I know this has been talked about before but all this talk of Sharp being really theatrical and rolling round on the floor on Tuesday.... that was a bit of an exaggeration wasn't it, the video on the BBC shows him going down but he doesn't clutch his face once, he just rolls onto his front. Any one else watched the video and feel it was West Ham fans being a bit over the top

Once again sorry for bringing it up again... no doubt someone will moan about another thread :p

I don't see why you should apologise. It's a big thing. I hate cheating and play acting, and would be ashamed of any Saint who indulged in that. Lallana's reaction when he was booked for diving showed he knew he'd tried it on and apologised. Fair enough, but going down like a sack of spuds to get another player in trouble is out of order. Sharp is not guilty! As interesting is the reaction of the other West Ham players as the silly little boy who lost his rag goes off. They are furious with him not with the ref, or Billy Sharp. They know he's been stupid and his actions can only result in one thing - the red card. He is an idiot and he cost West Ham the game, as his mates were aware.

Yea from what i heard the the lallana thing was pretty conclusive and really stupid... but he hasnt done it before so im hoping t was just in the heat of the moment. But back to sharp i am feeling a lot better about it, was really worried he had done a Brighton, but am much happier after watching it. Admittedly he could have probably stayed up... but i dont think many people will go to ground when being pushed by the neck! So yea glad it was just West ham fans

It was a blatant red card. If the roles were reversed then I would be wondering why our player was stupid enough to get involved in that kind of nonsense.

I was just watching it too but thought it must have already been discussed at length somewhere else.

Firstly the penalty given looked like no contact at all.

Secondly there was nothing theatrical whatsoever about how Billy was pushed over, by the throat. anyone pushed over like that would fall in the same way. and as you say he didn't clutch his face at all.

Plus the lino was stood right next to it, perfect line of sight.

I will laugh if West Ham appeal this.

Read some of the posts on the Hammers (KUMB) forum and they had all manner of grievances - seems like we're dead to them now. They have a lot less to complain about now it seems...did Sharp actually touch Noble?

Yes, that was quite an eye opener. Ricardo Vaz Te was absolutely livid with Matt Taylor. Did they play together at Bolton..?

Like a few others, I was a bit concerned after listening to/reading some comments after the game that Sharp might have been play-acting. I was so pissed off with El Abd theatrics last month and would hate for our own players to start behaving like that.

It is a clear red card, and not once does Sharp hold his head or roll around. If anything, Noble goes down very easily for the penalty. Allardyce should maybe be directing his anger towards Taylor instead of the officials and our players. Good luck appealing that anyway West Ham - am I right in saying an extra game is tacked onto bans for frivolous appeals?

I am all for banning the cheats.

That includes faking an injury and diving.

What Billy did was stupid and I hope NA has words with him.

However as it was a dive in the first place I can understand why he felt aggrieved but it is still wrong.

That'll be the Premier cancelled for a few matches! <laugh> and I disagree, Billy wasn't stupid, he didn't over-react and doesn't need telling off imo

Sharp does nothing wrong. Taylor was stupid and deserved a straight red. How Big Sam can appeal that is unbelievable??? There are so many clear pictures of Taylor's hand clutching Sharps neck.

I feel sorry for Sharp in all of this, the abuse he has received after this is despicable. His challenge gave away the pen (which looked dubious, but as Jos said his handball probably was a pen), he missed a sitter and then got loads of abuse for being assaulted. Time to give him a big cheer on Saturday and I have no doubt he will score some important goals for us from now until the end of the season.

Sharp never faked an injury. That fat **** Ian 'Moose' Abrahams said on TalkSport and Twitter that Sharp rolled about and held his head as if he'd been hit. Please can someone find me video evidence of this? The pictures show that he was shoved in the throat, and not once did he clutch his head or roll.

Lallana however did dive - he deserved to be booked and I hope he never does that again

Just watch the highlights on the BBC website. Sharp goes down but doesn't roll around.

True, he should not have dived but I think we all know that Lallana is not that type of player and normally try's to stay on his feet even when being fouled. It must be difficult when other teams are being theatrical and getting rewarded, our boys must rise above it but there is a difference between diving and going down easily when being fowled and It's something that our players can be quite naive about at times.
