Retired? Just asking like. Why has he had such little game time this season? Surely he's not passed it yet so what's up? Or is the short arse miching?.........................
Had a number of injuries this season and now that we have strength in midfield we do not need to rush him back until he if fully fit so that we can prolong his career by another season or two.
The legend has not retired but is deemed to be a bit part player now, He will get the odd game but his regular starts have finished....
Age doesn't help even at his tender years , it's easier to pick up knocks and it can also have an adverse effect on recovery time. Leon will be back I'm sure .
A fully fit Leon walks into our side. He is still our best ball retention player and once fully fit will be back as you say. For Dai to say he's a bit part player is crazy
I don't think he walks into it any longer. Too much younger competition. The speed at which Rangel has been put out to pasture tells you everything.
Hence fully fit. When Leon has played this season he's still performed to his usual standard, next season though, I'd agree.
valley he stopped walking into the side last season not this season even when he was fit.......It comes to us all and we have better at doing his job now as we have all seen when he has started this season...
Leon through his thought process and reading of the game is what makes him good at what he does so to compare him with Rangel who as a full back does need pace to get forward but more so to get back imo isn't the best comparison.
Leon is an important cog to the squad for just his knowledge of his position and the way we play to pass on to his team mates without playing the odd game now and then. He has a lot to give and i hope we keep him for a lot longer yet even giving him the chance of a coaching position if he wants to stay in football....A true legend...
You hated that our last manager done that to Leon, how often did you moan like **** about Laudrup not starting Leon, yet the very next season, your fine for Monk to completely omit him. You don't half change your stance on things to suit your preferred thoughts.
Leon's legs are passed it unfortunately thats why he has not played when fit...thats life it comes to us all im afraid.....
Well I think Leon is still our best DM, and should be one of the first names on the team sheet if he's fit, and I'm not seeing him in the Physio Room?
I feel the difference with last year is that our midfield is so much stronger in that department than last year
Without doubt , stronger with a greater variation of types of player. Cork will become a fixture and no doubt become another who will forfill his obvious potential with the Club.
Leon has had some stuff going on away from football. I'm not sure if he's needing more time away despite being fully fit and having known Garry Monk for the length of time he has, maybe he's just taking it easy on him. I agree that when he plays, we look better!
Leon knows he is not first choice any more and have accepted this a long time ago. He will get the odd game now and again but as being the first name on the team sheet well that ended last season not this season. We have younger players who can do the job better now...It comes to us all in the end....
