Graeme Jones to become new Swansea City manager? Swansea boss Michael Laudrup on the touchline during his team's Europa League group match against Valencia on September 19, 2013© AFP By Subhankar Mondal, Reporter Filed: Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 02:58 UK Last Updated: Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 04:12 UK Swansea City are contemplating appointing Graeme Jones as their manager if Michael Laudrup leaves at the end of the season, according to a report. The Sunday People claims that the 49-year-old Dane is likely to step down from his position at the Liberty Stadium in the summer and move onto manage a bigger club. In the event of such an occurrence, Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has lined up Jones to take charge of the first team. The 43-year-old, who is currently the assistant manager at Everton, was offered the Swansea job in 2012 when Brendan Rodgers departed, but he did not take it as he did not feel ready. However, it has now been reported that Jones is prepared to become the manager of the Welsh club next season. Swansea are currently 12th in the Premier League with 24 points from as many matches. We dont need these fancy big names, We need a manager who knows what we are about and is hungry for success and graem jones fits the bill nicely imo.
Who better...Look who has learned off and he was honest that he was not ready the last time jinx wanted him and that was over two years ago, He has had all that time learning from martinez in the type of football that we do best, So i would rather someone like graeme who jinx trusts than any big name who knows sod all...perfect choice if we can get him...
Im sure that Michu and the like will be thrilled to work under him. Imagine the signings a big name like Jones could attract to the club. A massive step backwards if true.
Because i look at the big picture and don't think for one second that graeme jones don't have contacts or is not respected in the football world. I am with Jenkins all the way with this and its a shame he could not have persuaded graeme to join us before appointing laudrup, perhaps we would not be in this mess...
