Jose Mourinho: Chelsea squad contains no divers Do you think the BBC sports page placibg this picture with this headline has any hidden meaning?
Today's dive from Ramires was embarrassing, the pair of them (Oscar/Ramires) have history this season and I sincerely hope they cut it out. Can't ****ing stand it.
I fail to see how players think they can get away with this anymore, every week we see so many slow motion close up replays of dives that they must know even if the ref misses it someone will point it out on tv.
With today's technology retrospective punishment wouldn't be too difficult; diving is counter-productive as your reputation tends to follow you around. Because it's become epidemic in the EPL referees have become reluctant to blow up for genuine fouls.
Needs a retrospective ban... but then we'd all be arguing about the decision of the diving committee! Think the important thing is referees have to apply the laws of the game. Next week if Ramires is fouled, it's a foul, regardless of reputation.
I think clarity needs to be made to be honest, there are too many debates on whether mere contact is enough to give away a penalty - which I do not agree with as it gives the player the impotus to go down. I'll never forget this and I still maintain to this day that it's a dive; It's a very poor attempt to win the ball but no contact is made.
If you watch the left of the screen and keep your eye on Ba isn't he hacked down from behind? So that would have been a pen wouldn't it?
So the player who takes Ba out from behind even though tackles from behind aren't allowed is ok doing that is he? Or are you suggesting Ba dived too
