Confusion is prevailing over Peter Reid. THIS IS DEVON website dated today, state that Peter Reid has not yet agreed to sign,as reported in the WESTERN MORNING NEWS. Meanwhile on PASOTI's website thread.......OCTOBER NEWS updated as it happens......Peter Reid as agreed to sign (8pm Thurs). Also on a Chris Webb thread, he states that Peter Reid isn't a problem anymore. So who is right....it needs clarifying please.
How could anyone on Pasoti, including Chris Webb, possibly have any concrete and up-to-the minute information on a private negotiation?
Good Morning gentlemen, I have found Chris Webb's posts to be accurate, where he gets the information from is anyone's guess although it is no secret that he is in close contact with Brent !
Chris Webb, and the Argyle Trust, have played an extremely active role in the James Brent takeover bid, and have worked their socks off. My only concern is that they are party to some extremely private and sensitive information and seem to be used as some kind of militant force whenever something happens that Brent/Ridsdale don't like. Some might say that action is needed but they are used to stir the fans up via Pasoti, such as the call to bombard Guilfoyles firm with e-mails, which prompted him to threaten to pull the plug. I'm also concerned about the "inner sanctum" of Chris Webb and co being so friendly with Peter Ridsdale, hence his threat to Tony Campbell about not being able to freely move around Plymouth if he didn't sign the agreement. Ridsdale was pretty much saying if Campbell didn't sign, they would unleash the fury of the Green Army on him. I just hope the Argyle Trust are using Ridsdale until the deal is over the line and then are set to kick him into touch, because I don't think Ridsdale's departure is as imminent as he made out last month. I know Plyborn will again stick up for Ridsdale but I don't want him at my club any longer and I don't think I will be much of a supporter if he's at the helm!
Jock.......It's not so much sticking up for Ridsdale.......it's accepting that he has been helpful in pro-longing the life of PAFC, at a time when our Directors at the time couldn't see the massive great iceberg bearing down on the club. I said before and I'll say again, until Ridsdale can be proven to have harmed PAFC for his own gain, I will accept him for what I see. People see Ridsdale as the man who sacked Peter Reid...........but someone had to do it.........before the situation was beyond redemption. OK I'm not sure that Fletcher and Larrieu are up to the job at the present time.......but the team are playing better and it is crying out for our two most experienced players to be playing rather than jumping up and down on the touchline. If Ridsdale is asked to stay......then so be it.....as long as he is reined in and stopped from going on any iffy projects. If he goes .....thats OK with me,......and that obviously would suit the majority of fans.........I would say thank you for helping us at a time when the morons where out of control. James Brent would need to find someone with the ability to run the club and with the experience to fight a very difficult situation that PAFC find themselves in.
Well according to the BBC, Reid has signed or agreed to sign, so it's now just the vultures from P and A to negotiate with and then the club's James Brent's. Best news for ages and from my point of view just need someone with a very large right foot to help the Riddler on his way and maybe we can go back to being a football club.
Suggests to me that the WESTERN MORNING NEWS have not checked the latest facts.......and they had written their article mid-afternoon. With Chris Webb in regular contact with James Brent,........and he did say he would be talking to Brent in the evening.......there was possibly some truth in what PASOTI claimed. So concrete evidence seemed to be available. So maybe Guilfoyle and Brent just need to get together in a meeting and sought it out ..........and stay there till it is agreed.
How much he has done to help Argyle is still debatable in my opinion. The large amount he has charged us for this help rankles with me, along with the time wasted on that no-mark Heaney, who whether Ridsdale likes to admit it or not, was Ridsdales man, and Ridsdale was desperate for him to succeed because it gave him control of the club. The stubborness shown by Ridsdale and Guilfoyle's mob with biase towards Heaney has cost us hundreds of thousands of pounds, which could have been going to the lifeblood of the club, namely the players and staff, instead of lining the pockets of these leeches. In this time we have also lost some good players for peanuts, which lined the pocket of another leech in Jamie Hart, another friend of Ridsdale's. If Ridsdale and Guilfoyle had been straight throughout this process, James Brent would have taken control months ago, staff would have been being paid a long time ago, and whoever was manager would have had a squad of happy players before the season had started, and had the opportunity to bring in a better standard of player because wages would have been offered instead of promises to pay! We would not have been sat at the foot of the Football League if Ridsdale and Guilfoyle had not been so blinkered towards a ginger tosser without a pot to piss in. Other than that, yeah Ridsdale's played a blinder for the good of Plymouth Argyle. Now if Ridsdale's off, we will wait with baited breath to see if he's willing to negotiate on any outstanding wages he's owed, because according to him he also hasn't been paid. Something Guilfoyle wasn't quite so clear on when pressed. I'm just hoping there's another club out there somewhere who could now do with the valuable assistance Ridsdale provides, and will be prepared to wait 12 months for Ridsdale to identify a buyer, who in our case was right under his nose all along! Yes Mr Ridsdale football is a results business and your results have been questionable to say the least.
The thing is Plymborn, whilst it's fine for Webb to be in regular contact with Brent or Ridsdale or Guilfoyle or whoever to put forward the Trust's viewpoint, what would be completely unacceptable & completely unprofessional would be for any of the insiders to be divulging confidential information concerning private negotiations to Webb. So either Webb is guessing & dressing it up so that some take it as fact OR someone inside Home Park can't keep their mouth shut. Neither is especially good.
Having been using Pasoti quite a lot lately, it's obvious that Brent and Ridsdale confide in Chris Webb and a select few others from Pasoti, mainly when they want information to be shared/leaked. Apparently Mr Ridsdale regularly peruses the site and so does James Brent. Ridsdale's threats to Tony Campbell were known before the statement from Tony Campbell had been posted. I'm no Tony Campbell fan either but I just find it incredible that Ridsdale is able to make these threats, and leak the details of the conversation in order to put pressure on TC to sign the agreement.I also don't like the fact that Ridsdale has used the official club website to issue statements about his now dropped fraud case, which came about before he had anything to do with Argyle, and yet the momentus news about the City Council buying Home Park didn't warrant a mention. To me, either Ridsdale was not exactly over the moon about James Brent inching closer to buying the club and was still harbouring hopes of finding another Heaney to give him the club for £1, or he has already been offered a role when the takeover is complete. I don't think for one minute Ridsdale will be signing anything that means it will take him 5 years to collect his back pay so it doesn't appear to me that Ridsdale will be planning another walking holiday somewhere miles from Home Park anytime soon
When I was a kid my father was station at RAF Upavon (1950/2) and we use to enjoy walks on Salisbuty Plain, when the Army Tank manoeuvres allowed civilians access. Now I'm wondering if Peter Ridsdale knows the area..........some good walking country on those Plains............but not too many league clubs around Wiltshire unfortunately.
Jock think you may have it spot on there. It also concerns me that the tail may be wagging the dog in regards to the Trust. Information is supplied/leaked/obtained and I am a little concerned it may be on a what we want them to know rather than what they need to know. Risdale is a very clever man that there is no denying, knows every trick in the book and is not afraid to use them and I for one will not sleep well while he is still at our club. PS We may also be missing the obvious in regards to leaked information... no sight nor sound from the shellsuit surfing super spy for several months perhaps the Trust´s secret dossiers are coming from a source we all know too well
Can't imagine the Milk Tray Man accepting an i.o.u. for his services though. Unless they're paying him in pot noodles and out of date Ginsters pasties.
I look at PASOTI quite frequently as it is the one site where info is passed although you have to look around and dig for it sometimes. I commented elsewhere that it was my opinion that a few are up their own rectums somewhat. Any sort of dissent is stamped on almost menacingly at times. There does seem to be a freedom of information on there and it can only come from an inner sanctum. It is not rocket science to work out that it is made known for a reason which is sort of sinister. But, at least we have learned more from this than at anytime over the last 8 or 9 months and if it was selective then it was better than nothing. I suspect those being used will be dropped gradualy once the signing has been done and their usefulness has passed. They however are probably thinking they are so important now that they are untouchable and are so much more than the ordinary fan. I have no doubt this Fans Trust has had it's place if for nothing else than raising funds which they have done exceptionally well. They do spoil it a tad with their "aren't we wonderful beings" self praise and are not slow to let everyone know of their sacrifices. The Roll of Honour suggestion was an example of this self praising and I hope it never gets off the ground. As was said on another thread it is not necessary and the saving of the club by many putting their hands in their own pockets which are not as deep as the rich men's should be the only plaque required. As for Ridsdale, I fail to see what roll he has left once the signing has been done. He is expensive to run and I cannot see where the money would come from to pay for him. If he isn't getting any wedge then he will be off like a shot without waiting for a P.45. He hasn't been all bad but like greenjock I don't think he has been that good either. A useful hatchetman when you need one but little else.
The best thing that can be said about Ridsdale is that at least he recognised that the light at the end of the tunnel was a train coming - and a very large, fast one at that. Mind you, by the time he came on the scene it must have been possible to tell what colour eyes the driver had, never mind that it was time to take evasive action, so maybe running for cover wasn't such a uniquely brilliant idea on his part.
Fully agree that we have learned more from the links through Pasoti than has come from anywhere else though on the selective better than nothing... might disagree on that manipulative intell better than no intell? Still with a bit of luck in a day or so we can forget about all this crap and get on with worrying, griping, moaning and whinging about being bottom of the league with a squad of kids..ahhh bliss
Well after tonight's performance I'm praying that the takeover goes through tomorrow and James Brent tells Ridsdale his services are no longer required and his back wages will be paid in full over the next 5 years just like everyone else. Also thank Fletcher and Larrieu for filling in and now they can concentrate on the playing side of things because Brent has an experienced manager and set of coaches up his sleeve. The kids tried again tonight but it's like pissing into the wind. Sounds like Sims and Lecointe actually played well for the majority of the game but they are kids. Personally I would like to thank Ridsdale again for the sterling job he has done "finding" James Brent right underneath his nose after 9 months of searching where his expenses have stacked up, and the administrators bill has equalled Britains trade defecit. I would like to thank him for "saving" us by selling BWP, Mason and N'Gala for the combined sum of tuppence ha'penny and a bag of pork scratchings, all three coincidentally scored tonight, along with Stephane Zubar, albeit an own goal, who left for free in his own words "because of the pack of lies he was fed by Ridsdale". Ridsdale isn't to blame for the troubles we have found ourself in, but he's done **** all to resolve any of them and made him and his pals a nice wedge while depleting our squad and sacking someone who has been the model of loyalty and integrity. Oh and Conference, **** Off
I do enjoy your posts greenjock. So colourful and graphic. What will we and you do when the fat man has hailed his taxi? Expect we can find somebody to vent spleen on somewhere.
Oh I'm sure I will. On a serious note it now appears that the deal is being held up because our former player Lee Molyneux is spending time at Her Majesty's Pleasure so the Brent team haven't been able to get him to sign the agreement papers! Could somebody bake a cake quickly and hide them inside? I suppose it still counts as a file in a cake?
Our manager is called Fletcher. Is that Norman Stanley Fletcher? If so he must have contacts on the inside still. What was the crime? Playing for Argyle and trying to pass himself off as a footballer perhaps.
