A little bit late but have been away over the weekend. His header to put Palace into the Cup Final must have gone a long way to repay the 9 million Palace paid us for him. Anyone agree.
Prize money fur winning the cup is pennies. Overall he's been ****e for them and the only winners at &9million are us.
Surely they'll still want to win, I always think the whole notion of teams "having nothing to play for" is a bit overblown. They're still professional footballers who should want to win every game they play. West Brown had nothing to play for against Spurs last night but they still spoiled the party.
exactly. there's just no way of knowing what you'll get week-in, week-out. we simply have to be prepared to go out and win. and firget about what the others get up to.
But if they beat the mags there is nee way we'd catch them Hopefully they just batter the mags and we can forget about Pardews ****ters.
I'm surprised Palace are still in sight for some on here. Pardew's going to have them pumped against hil old team. No way he'll want to lose this one.
Agreed, he won't want to lose, but from the players' point of view you can't recreate the desire of having to win. Will they be jumping in to 50-50's and risking a broken leg for the Cup Final? Doubt it IMO
I reckon he'll be warning his squad not to pull out of any tackles and that they're playing for a starting position in the final. He'll desperatley want to beat the mags! Thats the optimist on me!
For what its worth i think wikkem still owes a fair bit on that transfer fee, like bill said though, he will repay some of it massively for Sunderland fans if he scores a couple at the weekend. Again i reckon pardeaux will have the palace players up for the game at the weekend as they will be playing for their places in the team for the final. Also their last 2 games are v Stoke at home then away to Southampton so potentially, its the easiest game they may play despite the filth fighting for their lives.
I think he could prove to be money well spent compared to say, Fletcher, Johnners or Rodders. And if he plays like he did against us and scores a couple this weekend he will become a bit of a local hero. No name required, so I cant get it wrong this time .
