I know it was reported he had agreed in principal but I've not read anything since. Having read this morning about the Ryan Bennett u-turn from the board I wonder if he will think twice!

Statements from Rodgers like " I understand where the board is coming from , they'll be around long after I'm gone " have got me on pins & needles . Apparently the board put a halt to the proceedings as Bennett was driving to Swansea , I know I'd be pissed if I was Buck

Rodgers is way too professional to leave just because he couldn't get one player. What do you expect him to do - throw a tantrum and walk out. You don't seem to have much faith in him. If managers left every time they couldn't get a player there'd be managers leaving every week. Stop worrying.

He'll sign. There's no way he'd have brought in the players he did if he had any intention of leaving.

Of course he won't leave because of that.

I'm not, The Evening Post story is just their take on the the one on BBC sport. Terms like "rubber stamped "agreed in principle" "just the formalities" always worry me. Its been nearly a fortnight since BR said it would be signed by the end of that weekend (this was post Bennet not coming). Now HJ is saying at the end of this week.
I am not saying he would not sign just because of that but why the delay. I am no legal expert so maybe contracts take longer to sort than I expect but I just wish that they would say nothing until its all done. That way there would be no doubt put in peoples minds.
Personally I thnk he will sign but you never know. Managers have been known to leave when its least expected.:emoticon-0107-sweat

Dont get me wrong I have total faith in Rodgers, just makes me nervous when they say something one week in and something else the next in the media.
Your probably right mate but i will be much more relaxed when its all done. Hey you never know maybe he is holding out to see if Harry Redknapp is going to go down. Anyon egiving odds on Rodgers for Spurs !!!!!! <yikes>

So how are you going to relax? Don't you know that most managers and players move while their under contact. If Rodgers is under contract it's still possible for him to leave. The only difference is that the Swans will get more money.

Anyway, what difference does it make. People said we'd be back in League Two when Martinez left, but look at us now. When Rodgers leaves we'll just get a new manager. No big deal.

My biggest concern about signing Buck isn't a deep rooted feeling that Buck is the only manager for us , our team runs pretty good no matter the manager it seems . It's getting compensation for him if a big club does come for him , well get a bundle for him & get a new guy in if need be . I not sure we would even be in this league if not for the sale of Martinez & Scotland IMO . Hope Buck stays for a long time but it's not critical , getting money for him after he signs a contract for us when he eventually becomes Brendan Rodgerspur is important , to me anyways .

Your right they do, but as Crackerjack said I would much prefer us to get a new manager with a wad of compo than without. As it stands if Buck went at the end of this season we would get virtually nothing as he is only on a 1 year contract compare that with if he is signed to a 3 year contract.
That aside, whatever false loyalty there is in the sport and however cynical I can be it would give me a warm glow in my heart if BR pledges his commitment sooner rather than later.:emoticon-0115-inlov
