No single treatment works best for everyone with plantar fasciitis. But there are many things you can try to help your foot get better: Give your feet a rest. Cut back on activities that make your foot hurt. Try not to walk or run on hard surfaces. To reduce pain and swelling, try putting ice on your heel. Or take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen (such as Advil or Motrin), naproxen (such as Aleve), or aspirin. Pick shoes with good arch support and a cushioned sole. Or try heel cups or shoe inserts (orthotics please log in to view this image ). Use them in both shoes, even if only one foot hurts
Yes i had it for a year and it made my life hell!! i tried everything, stretching, towel stretching running a frozen bottle under my foot blah blah blah, i think it was brought on by work boots, but i'm not sure. I could only wear trainers, everything else made my foot really sore, i think that was due to the pressure put on the sore bit. (i couldn't even wear my high heels when the wife was out)....ha ha Anyway, in the end i went for ultrasound treatment. You can see it being done on Youtube (it sounds like a really loud clicking noise). It is a little bit sore but a nice sore....if you know what i mean. I got instant pain relief for an hour or two, but it comes back. All in all i took 2 - 3 weeks between treatments and took 6 treatments. I could feel it getting better every time. Now i have no problem, if you do the treatment then do it as soon as possible. My case was a bad one, so i compensated on other parts of my foot......don't wait that long!
