According to my husband your memory is not correct. On Saturday 14th Jan 1939 Hull City beat Carlisle 11-1 to record their highest ever league goal tally. If you were at the 8-0 match against Oldham you were there in 1953. If you were at the Oldham match in 1958 it was 9-0. My husband was at both these matches.
Not really Dr Stanley. Of the scores posted only one 7-0 and the 10-0 happened before he was born and these two were seen by his dad and grandad having previously been mentioned on here. All the other 6-0 scores occurred between 1948 and 1966 the year he left England. The other two 7-0's were in '64 and '83 and the 8-0 and 9-0 have been discussed earlier. Your 'Super Computer' reference would have been a great description of my previous husband who, when we parted, was studying for his fourth tertiary qualification and ultimately ended up with six. Born in Darlington he supported Sunderland! Time to leave for Sydney and the fireworks so to you and all reading this we wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
Our previous big win without reply was the 5-0 vs Southampton in the fog (5 seasons ago?) Scunthorpe was out last big away win: 5-1
My husband says you may have forgotten that Hull City's last 7 league goal tally was against Swansea in 1997( my best friend's team). It was a "goalathon" with Swansea scoring 4 in reply.
happy new year! must be sunny there now! and you're probably getting the lunchtime sarnies out! your husband is a super computer!
It's late-afternoon and the cloud has rolled in after a sunny morning with the current temperature in the mid-twenties.Tea is on the horizon- my husband has just finished cooking the Tiger prawns for an English salad. The alcoholic beverage will be a left over bottle of Bollinger for me and a glass of red for him(Chateau Cardboard). Happy New Year to you too.
We scored 8 v Whitby & won 8-4 I think Duane Darby scored a double hat trick if memory serves right. Can't remember when though, thought it was around mid 90's !
