Yes, its all about 4-2-3-1 now or 4-3-3.

Think we will be playing this way next season.

No, fads and trends, will come and go. Lot's of teams like two holding players now etc, lots try to copy successful teams formations.

What suits your team and players best. 4-4-2 will be back, if indeed it does go away but I doubt it.

I like 4-4-2 if & I stress if, you have two good wingers.

They don't have to have the ability to beat the full backs. Just get the ****ing crosses in.

    Simple really.

Johnstone & Summerbee were great at it & look how many goals that got us.

<bubbly>Yeh I think the formation will be different against teams but there still will be 442 sometimes

I think that if the Dutch had played in a 4-4-2 formation, they might have won this EC.

Best starting 11 in my opinion:

    Stekelenburg

Van der Wiel - Heitinga - Mathijsen - Willems

Robben - Van Bommel - Sneijder - Van der Vaart

    Huntelaar - Van Persie

I think all rigid formations are looking a bit dated with what Spain are doing. Their players are all good on the ball and fill in the gaps as other players move out. It's very fluid and doesn't rely on specialists per se, as they can all play all over the park.
