I hope so mate. I'd go back to him on the left, and Gordon on the right.

I get that Barnes isn't as defensive but if we are attacking all the time who cares. I remember that, under Keegan Bez once famously said they never work on defensive formations as all the focus is on attack.

With Tonali/Bruno/Joe in the centre of the park we own the middle and they can help out wider if called upon.

I remember when Barnes was at Leicester and I kept thinking... boy that lad is a talent and has a wicked accuracy of shot.

A canny few were crying about him for ages as he was out injured etc and never really got going. This is his year to shine and he looks like he's started well.

I think he will play a vital part this season.

He is a direct player. When he comes in from the left you just know that he’s going to hit the target with that right boot.

Him and Miggy merged together to take Barnes’s shooting and Miggy’s hard work and pace - we’d have a world class winger

Yes that’s possibly the worst part of Barnes game. The work ethic. But maybe that’s just because of match fitness.

Possible that Howe works on that.

Another one in the £100m bracket if selling!

That’s a big value for him. But he is definitely worth 50-60m I reckon.

Can we get him in on the left and Gordon playing down the right?

    Agree here.
In today's market if he maintains his momentum then he will score 10+ and reach a £50m+ value.
He looks a bargain at £35m.

I wouldn't... the solution is always to simply wait and then take your opportunities when they come along.

We certainly have decent goalscoring options now. This is just based on PL form while playing for NUFC:

    Wilson - 95 apps - 47 goals (1 every 2 games)

    Isak - 55 apps - 32 goals (1 every 1.7 games)

    Gordon - 54 apps - 13 goals (1 every 4 games)

    Barnes - 25 apps - 7 goals (1 every 4 games)

Barnes is scoring a goal or assisting every 82 mins so far this season across 5 app's.

Think with him, Gordon and Isak this year as a front 3 we are guaranteeing goals - it's just about keeping them all fit and then who else can contribute from deeper.

Extrapolating further curtesy of the beeb:

"Harvey Barnes has been directly involved in 11 goals in his 25 Premier League appearances for Newcastle (7 goals, 4 assists), averaging a goal or assist every 87 minutes of league action for the Magpies."

    Good stat Obi.
I see Isak and Gordon have already played more the 50% of Wilson's appearances. I'm done with him.

Below are Maddison's stats, I couldn't find one for how many times he's rolled around the floor whingeing like a little bitch feigning injury but it would be at least double the amount of appearances...just as a wild stab in the dark :-

    upload_2024-9-17_13-22-31.png

I know who I'd rather have. Barnes has been injured for most of his first season with us and (unlike Maddison) he's not a regular starter for us....yet !

So what you are saying is that you were lying to us. That’s not very nice at all, is it? Are these the morals that you are going to teach your newborn?

Someone is going to have to buck his ideas up, matey. :police:
