QPR manager Harry Redknapp on Adel Taarabt: "I had a great chat with Adel. He wants to get fit and back in the team. He's worked very hard in training this week "He needs to get fitter and work harder and he's told me he's going to do that. That's all I want. "Adel will be training with us again this morning and as soon as he's fit, I'm sure he'll be a valuable player for us."
QPR manager Harry Redknapp on Rio Ferdinand's suspension for comments made on Twitter: "We've not seen the report from the FA so we can't really comment on it, to understand what he has done. "I'll have to sit down with chief executive Philip Beard and chairman Tony Fernandes and talk about the possibility of an appeal when we have the report. "Rio does know how to behave off the pitch. There are not many professionals better than Rio. But I am not in position to talk about it, because I have not seen any details. "Rio understands there is competition for his place. He is out on the training ground first every day, he is vocal in the dressing room. He is a top guy and understands that he has to wait his turn."
Maybe, maybe not, he trained with the 1st team and he's training with them today, Harry may think that's better than playing in the U21's, we will never know, lets just hope harmony has broken out.
This is the same Rio that made a remark to Ashley cole ref skin colour and the same Rio who didnt turn up for a urine test and got banned for 8 months, well Harry you have very low standards.
Trevor Morley made some very good observations re the Harry/Adel spat. He said that this is what Harry does when he's down at the bottom of the table. He want's to create an unpleasant atmosphere for the players. He hates losing more than anyone according to Morley. The result is that the players train harder and longer to make sure they don't lose the next games. It unifies the players and creates stronger bonds. He was addament that Harry was spot on in his handling of the situation. He said it BEFORE the game against Villa started. He knows what he's talking about and comes across as a very astute pundit.
This and the Villa press conference have been a lot better. I'd even go so far as to say that the media might find them a little boring which is excellent for us.
No as said before...It was a u21 FIXTURE. It was not set up for Adel Adel could have been chosen to play as an over-aged player, but it was not set up for him More mis-information
No, it was posted in a post and paper last week that this was aimed for him...(sorry im trying to find the link) It was an arranged fixture but HR said it was also for AT and 2 others...! Illl try to find the post / link. its not as innocent as you think Beth....it was posted earlier...
Keep on digging I think you may find that there is nothing in this and Taarabt has just been training hard and trying to get into the team … when he does you will need a bigger shovel
I saw and heard Arry say that somewhere as well Queens. But then I heard him say so much bullshiite it is really not worth paying much attention to any of it. What we have done on the pitch last couple of games, and his performance on the sidelines look to me like someone has managed to kick him hard enough up his ass to get him working and using some energy on us at least - hope that continues. If he gets Adel performing well for us again, that would be fantastic, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Let's not forget who set up SWP for our last famous victory at 'That Place'. Could lightening strike twice?!
