Good we have stability but there really will be no excuses blaming anyone else if we don't at least make the play-offs...
Excellent news. Harry had no chance with this squad by the sounds of it - even TF is saying what we have been saying for months now. Harry is the right man.
Of course it is. A very tall order. It would be interesting if one of our Statto's could dig out the figure but out of the 60-odd teams that have been relegated since the PL began, how many bounced straight back up? I'd say its less than 20%, which would give us a 1 in 5 chance of promotion next season. If we could get the official Stat confirmed it would help dampen down all the sh*te talk that accompanies our pre-season every year on this fu*king Board.
yes its great news but lets not get caught up in the we'll be back stronger than ever, its going to be bloody hard,we will see how good Harry is, he's got his work cut out to get this club back to the premier league.
Harry is stability We are going to lose players...we need someone who knows what the plan is...it the obvious and most sensible decision. Next season starts tonight. Lets get behind the team now...the feeling imparted in the next three matches has to last the summmer
That's a success rate of 23%. Its actually higher than I thought it'd be Judo. I still reckon its below 20% in the whole PL era.
I think that, on balance, this is the right decision. Stability is needed and we don't want to clear out the entire squad as some as bizarrely saying. Get rid of the ones we know are over the hill and not trying.......keep the rest. We'll have one of the strongest squads in the Championship next year for sure. No guarantee of going up, but lets get behind them when the time comes.
Just to play devil's advocate for a second here Col, once we've cleared out those who are over the hill and those who are not trying who have we got left? Taarabt, er Mackie, um, Onouha, I'm struggling now.....
Having read the article on the offish, I think it is fair to expect automatic promotion at the first attempt. Harold can keep any players he wants if he can persuade them to stay, despite the ruinous salaries. Doubtless he will get some spending money as well. So he will start the season with ''his' squad, set up the way he wants. There is no point in keeping him unless we bounce straight back, he does not build for the future, and has no incentive to at his age, has no record of buying young, untried talent (Bale cost 5mil as a kid, not sure if Harold had anything to do with it). I could have tolerated 2 or 3 seasons down if we were creating something, this way is another roll of the dice. Let's hope our luck changes, I will go beserk with another season of blame shifting, talk of split dressing rooms, and assorted bollocks. There are worse managers out there, and Harold does make me laugh occassionally. His comments on the owners were spot on, and gracious. But his record, as Brix has pointed out, is very modest after 30 plus years of management and all the hype. Underwhelmed, and I will not be so self restrained as this season if this starts to go tits up. Once again, Tony shows both trust and loyalty, outstanding qualities. I hope he gets the return he, and we, deserve.
Harry won't have a problem telling players they're not good enough to their faces. I still think he could attract good players as he has a lot of respect in the game. It's been a painful season but I am excited about next season. At least it's never boring supporting QPR!
I think it's brilliant that you believe that. Life affirming almost. And if his 'own' team isn't up to scratch then at least he can blame his dog. You know what his dog's called, surely? It's Cayman Island account number 16453 935120 4633070.
