The news we all expected Harry has finally said that they will give Ledders a new deal. I know its the Fail but still. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2080530/Tottenham-offer-Ledley-King-new-deal.html
It's not Redknapp's choice. Levy will assess the problem with a more measured head, I think. King should be offered a contract of some description, though. Playing or coaching could be decided by his performances over the second half of the season.
I;d say it;s about right - he may have only played nine of the required twenty games, but the way he's played in those games and the influence he has on the pitch justifies offering him a new contract now.
I agree, give him another year, if we can get 20 games out of him again, hand him another year and by then I think he'd have had about enough, inwhich case crown him King King I of Spurs and give him rulership of all of Tottenham.
Makes you laugh Drogba chucking his toys out over not getting a 2yr deal...at 33...saying he wants job security...in a job thats already earn't him millions! I see no problem with yearly renewable contracts for player or club...they're lucky to be on a pitch at that age.
King knows that he's loved at Spurs, and that the Spurs physios - who've worked with him for years - are the ones best placed to look after him. He knows that he'll have a role to play at Spurs, for whole of his life. The man is a Spurs legend, up there with every single one of the greats.
