The Chronicle has reported that Newcastle are one of the interested parties in signing the forward, as Steve McClaren looks to revitalise the club’s attack next season. However, despite significant interest in Austin from various clubs, Redknapp suggested on talkSPORT that the player could still stay where he is ahead of next season. “Charlie’s a little bit in that mould (a Newcastle number nine). He’s got a good attitude, he works hard and he scores his goals – I don’t know what Tony’s (Fernandes) got planned, whether he wants to keep him like Ings and let him run out that final year,” he said. What’s the issue for Newcastle? Newcastle have decent resources to back themselves up in the transfer market over the summer and they can be competitive against any team interested in Austin. the Chronicle[/a] suggests Newcastle are battling against, is the opportunity for the player to stay in London. Is there a realistic chance QPR could keep him? There is because he’s under contract with the Championship club. However, it’s doubtful whether Tony Fernandes will want to pass up the opportunity to make good money on the player considering the current status of QPR in the second flight of English football. The best approach for Newcastle If Austin is a player that McClaren truly wants, the Magpies have to nail their colours to the mast and make their best possible offer. I wish Redknapp would F@@K off to Spain or something. The dinosaur can't keep away from the media can he? He was a s@@t manager who took us down twice.
And the media craves him. He didn't invite himself on to the show. "It's hard you know, what wiv [his] knees to turn down a quick wad of money bunged his way for saying nothing at all. Nobody takes him seriously at all because they realise he's been found out once too often. But, they like the cheeky one liners and the fake show of principle he always conjures up.
